Lord, thank You that You see and know
All our deepest needs;
Jesus, may You sow in me
The Faith of a mustard seed.

You said if we had faith as small
As just a tiny seed,
Then we could move our mountains
And accomplish mighty deeds.

Lord, help me have the faith I need
To know and do Thy will,
To cling to Thee amid the storms
In patience to be still…

Lord, help me have the faith I need
To drown the doubts and fears
That come like waves to overwhelm…
Lord, help me persevere.

Lord, You see and know our needs
Lord Jesus, God of grace,
I pray You’ll give to me Thy gift
Of the mustard seed of faith.
In Jesus’ name, amen.

  1. Suzanne, that mustard seed is so powerful because it is unadulterated, unmixed, unified. How can we get there when we suffer from such split motives and double-mindedness? The answer is in impartation. Christ in us brings that mustard seed; makes all desires and burdens consistent with the will of His Father. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37). So the answer is simply soaking in more of Him (the Gospels, prayer, dialogue with trusted believers and praise which is one of your favourites). Bruised corn is bread.
