Almighty God Is

Almighty God Is

May the Lord use this meditative spiritual Prayerpoem to encourage you tonight.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, may You bless all who read this prayerpoem,

Fill each heart with every assurance of Your love for them, of Your divine reality, though we cannot see You with our physical eyes nor hear Thee with our ears, but with our hearts only in this world, help Thy children know and believe that You made them to love them.

Despite every sorrow and dark storm and suffering that afflicts their lives You see what they are going through.

Lord, You are indeed with every child even as You were with Thy only Son on the cross, and You will not forsake Your child who is suffering.

Thy Word promises that neither death nor life can separate the child of God from Christ’s love, for Christ suffered death that Thy children could have everlasting life and peace with God forever.

Father, comfort Thy children tonight with these thoughts, thank You, Lord, we love You, ~ In Jesus’ name amen.

❤️🙏🏽 Suzanne

Two Faces

Two Faces

The prayer poem Two Faces is inspired from a dream I had the other night.

In the poem I describe my vision of the two faces of the Lord Jesus Christ and when I woke up I was very upset and prayed as I always do about the dreams the Lord gives me for He very often speaks to me through His Word when I ask what my dreams mean. So He gave me a few verses to meditate on as well as the prayer poem. After reading the poem, and praying see how many more bible verses the Holy Spirit inspires you to find to meditate on. He will teach you many things to be sure! May God bless and encourage you as you study and ponder His word and spend time in fellowship with Him today. In Jesus’ name, amen,

Here are some verses.

ENCOURAGING SCRIPTURES

”He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world didn’t recognize Him. He came to his own, and those who were His own didn’t receive Him.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.“ John 1:10-13 WEBUS

”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him. Without Him, nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.“

John 1:1-5 WEBUS

”Even if our Good News is veiled, it is veiled in those who are dying, in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving,

that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ,

who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.

For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake, seeing it is God who said,

“Light will shine out of darkness,” who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.“

2 Corinthians 4:3-6 WEBUS

Therefore I urge you, brothers,

by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice,

holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed

by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove

what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.“

Romans 12:1-2 WEBUS

”Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not of this world.

If my Kingdom were of this world,

then my servants would fight,

that I wouldn’t be delivered to the Jews.

But now my Kingdom is not from here.”

Pilate therefore said to him, “Are you a king then?”

Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king.

For this reason I have been born, and for this reason

I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth.

Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”“

John 18:36-37 WEBUS

”Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you don’t believe.

The works that I do in My Father’s name, these testify about Me.

But you don’t believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I told you.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

I give eternal life to them.

They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all.

No one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

I and the Father are one.”“

John 10:25-30 WEBUS

”Therefore Jesus said to them, “If God were your father, you would love Me, for I came out and have come from God. For I haven’t come of Myself, but He sent Me.

Why don’t you understand My speech?

Because you can’t hear My word.

You are of your father the devil,

and you want to do the desires of your father.

He was a murderer from the beginning,

and doesn’t stand in the truth,

because there is no truth in him.

When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own;

for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

Which of you convicts me of sin?

If I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me?

He who is of God hears the words of God.

For this cause you don’t hear, because you are not of God.”

John 8:42-44, 46-47 WEBUS

God’s Copyright

God created man to worship Him.

He created us because He wanted us.

“Worthy are You, our LORD and God, to receive the glory, the honor, and the power, for You created all things, and because of Your desire they existed, and were created!”Revelation 4:11

God created man in his own image. In God’s image He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27

I believe as an artist that all that the Lord makes must in some way bear His image, or stamp of ownership.

In fact, the Lord has so made His children, that each creature presents some individual characteristic all its own.

John wrote, “ ”All things were made through Him (*Christ) Without Him, nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.“~ John 1:3-5 WEBUS

That spark of wisdom, brilliance of intellect and creative gifts, even diverse abilities and natural instincts of varying strengths, even among all the myriad creatures of the earth; these then I believe are that Divine spark the apostle is referring to that are woven into every creature that is born.

This “light” is perhaps the very DNA of our Creator’s Authorship reflecting His own character. “For God is light, and in Him there is no darkness.” ( 1 John 1:5)

John wrote, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t *overcome it.“ John 1:3-5 WEBUS

The note in my Bible that accompanies this verse is interesting. From the World English Bible: “[The word translated “overcome” (katelaben) can also be translated “comprehended.” It refers to getting a grip on an enemy to defeat him.] it.”

The Bible reveals that there exists a war between good and evil.

God is good, He is love. 1 John 4:8.

God is merciful. See Psalm 36

God forgives our sins. See Psalm 103.

But the devil is the father of lies, he is a thief who comes to steal, kill, and to destroy. Jesus, the Son of God said this about god of this world, who is evil.

All a person has to do to realize that there is a war between good and evil is to look at reality. Study history. Human nature is fallen. If made in Gods good image, how was it shattered?

The prophet speaking for Yahweh wrote:

Behold, all souls are Mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine…” Ezekiel 18:4

God’s Image

Every created thing bears God’s image stamped upon each of us, written in our DNA code. Now we may not be able to see this, but God does. We will all meet Him face to face when we leave our earthly bodies. But we will not all be able to spend eternity with Him in His Kingdom. He has revealed in His Word the reason why.

For the last several years the Lord has asked me to use the copyright symbol as a watermark on the works He inspires me to create for His glory.

This watermark He revealed to me is a metaphor to teach His people an important spiritual truth from His Word.

In authorship the term copyright refers to a legal right of ownership to the works a creator makes to use as they wish or to assign others the legal right to use it, perform, publish, etc.

Metaphorically, visualize God as owning the “Copyright” to all He creates the instant He makes every soul.

In this country an artist owns the copyright to a work he or she creates as soon as they make it, plus seventy years beyond their lifetime. However, God owns His copyright forever for He is eternal.

Just as on earth there is a way that a copyright can be transferred to another owner or sold, there was a way that God’s copyright to His creation of man could be transferred, even lost, even stolen, through both the cunning work of the devil and the disobedience of the humans God had made to love, honor and obey (*worship) Him. Worship is love in God’s eyes. For Jesus said,

“The one who loves Me will keep My Word and He who does not love Me will not keep My Words…” (*See John 14:23-24)

Adam and Eve, knew God, they saw Him every day, they heard His voice, walked with Him in Paradise, and God had given them dominion over the whole earth.

They were acquainted with His character and were aware that God was love~had He not given them everything to enjoy? They knew God was faithful, had He not provided them with everything they needed every day? They should have believed that God could not lie.

So when a total stranger, slithered into the Garden in the form of a subtle serpent while the humans were at work one day, and challenged God’s command to not eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they should have rebuked that evil voice at once and said “Begone!”

But they did not. Instead, they listened as the devil, or God’s enemy, who as a master of deceit and father of lies as Jesus called him, subtly redefined God’s command, changing the truth into a lie, and introducing doubt into their minds as to God’s character and trustworthiness.

The Devil was successful because he was simultaneously getting God’s children’s eyes off the command (The truth) and fixing it onto the thing ( the tree) whose fruit is forbidden and is making it seem not bad, but in fact a good thing. He repaints what she clearly has been told will lead to death, it is not good, now the devil with his mastery of deception, transforms it in her mind into a thing she desperately wants because it is something she didn’t have in her collection, which amounts to all the trees in Paradise but this one. He is appealing to her greed and Covetousness.

There are few who have everything and lack but one can bear it if it’s pointed out to them under certain terms and conditions. Especially when that scoundrel implicates that it’s God who has all of it and is hoarding it from her! It is that one tree whose fruit will not in fact kill her, but will make her as wise as He. It His own private stock of wisdom in fact.

The idea!

The idea!

Covetousness and greed cannot bear it. She must have that tree as well as all the others in Eden too or none of the rest of the trees will matter, besides she’s sure Yahweh would give it to her for a blessing if He were here and could listen to this gentleman put it like this. For she was certain that the Lord who was her particular Friend would withhold nothing from her ~ He’s so very dear and kind. He would give her anything she asked of Him.

With such reassurances I can imagine Miss Eve would have justified her disobedience to God’s command.

For we never outright give in to temptation to sin without dressing it up in the most upright clothes. We give the devil a respectable honor not due him and pretend that the Lord would also be fooled by his dissembling .

But God sees that serpent has a hook and he’s seeking for a human to enslave.

Satan is trying to get the woman to disobey God so he can swindle God’s copyright away from Him . He must get the parents with the dominion over the earth to obey his voice and disobey God’s voice, to trust him over God, then God’s copyright to His creation will all be transferred over to the kingdom of darkness. The humans will be enslaved by sin and death and come under Satan’s dominion.

“ Now the serpent was more subtle than any animal of the field which the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Has God really said, You shall not eat of any tree of the garden?'”

2The woman said to the serpent, “Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat, but of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'”

“ The serpent said to the woman, “You won’t surely die, for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:1-5

When the humans listened to and believed in the creature’s voice, giving it more value in their heart and mind over their Creator’s voice, God’s copyright over them was transferred through their disobedience to the god of this world, and they immediately began to die, for what happens in the spirit eventually works itself out in the physical realm.

Where Adam and Eve had been naked and not known it before, they now saw flaws and faults, motes and beams everywhere and particularly in each other. They could now hate and abuse and fear and see ugliness, where before they were creatures of the light who walked in love and joy and peace.

They had lost paradise and could not find their way back to the beautiful light.

For the Lord had meant what He said about that Forbidden Tree, it would lead to death in the end in everything they ever did. All they ever accomplished on the beautiful earth would ultimately crumble in a heap of dust, as would they.

God never lies.

They could choose either to love Him, believe Him, and obey Him. Or to not believe and disobey Him.

When tempted we tend to redefine God’s truth to justify our sin, we make Him seem like He will change His mind and say it’s ok and we can do this thing He’s forbidden.

We will alter His truth to believe any lie to suit whatever purpose that justifies whatever scheme the devil is tempting us with to enslave our souls away from Christ.

Little do we realize, it has been forbidden for a reason to save us from becoming enslaved by evil.

(Take a moment to read what the copyright holder is permitted to do, while always keeping in mind we are using this symbol as a metaphor to explain a spiritual reality. But it is a good one for it goes a long way towards illustrating why there is so much evil in this world.)

The good news is that our loving God did not want His souls to remain under the curse of death and Satan’s dominion.

For God made a way that people could be saved by sending His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ to (regain God’s copyright so to speak) so that people who wanted to be saved, could be redeemed by His blood, be reborn into the family of God, *their copyrights metaphorically would then belong to God under a new covenant and they would be given eternal life when their earthly bodies died. They would go to that Paradise Adam and Eve had lost. Jesus said,

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.

He who believes in Him is not judged. He who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.

This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil. John 3:14-19

Who Owns The Copyright To Me?

Jesus said, Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will still live, even if he dies.

Whoever lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this? John 11:25-Who owns the copyright to me?

When God asked me to write

The Lord told me that I was making a public testimony that Suzanne is Copyrighted by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and in doing this I was not ashamed to declare my name alongside my Redeemer’s .

Christ’s name is not popular, it is not politically correct, it brings a stumbling block, it costs followers, and when one links their name to an unpopular name they instantly become just as unpopular.

However, Christians must not be afraid or ashamed to link our names with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, though it makes us very much a loser in the eyes of this world.

Jesus declared in the latter days, ”“…you will be hated by all of the nations for My name’s sake.“ Matthew 24:9 WEBUS

But Christ said His disciples nevertheless must practice love~

Jesus said,”A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

My watermark God told me to use reflects a spiritual reality demonstrating that Christ owns the Copyright to me and to all He creates through and in me. For I have surrendered myself completely to the Lord and devoted my life and all that I am and have and create completely to Him.

My watermark proclaims to the world that God’s redeemed child, Suzanne Davis Harden was purchased by the spotless blood of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who lives inside of her through His Holy Spirit who inspires her according to God’s word, the Almighty, our Creator, and all to God’s glory, in Jesus’ name, amen.

In The Garden

In The Garden Prayer Poem Copyright by SD Harden Thru the Risen Lord Jesus Christ in me Inspired by the Holy Spirit To The Glory of God In Jesus Name Amen. For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ not pour out His Anger upon us.

Genesis 3~ The Fall of Man

”Now the serpent was more subtle than any animal of the field which Yahweh God had made.

He said to the woman, “Has God really said, ‘You shall not eat of any tree of the garden’?”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees of the garden, but not the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden.

God has said, ‘You shall not eat of it. You shall not touch it, lest you die.’”

The serpent said to the woman, “You won’t really die, for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took some of its fruit, and ate.

Then she gave some to her husband with her, and he ate it, too.

Their eyes were opened, and they both knew that they were naked.

They sewed fig leaves together, and made coverings for themselves.

They heard Yahweh God’s voice walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Yahweh God among the trees of the garden.

Yahweh God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?”

The man said, “I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; so I hid myself.”

God said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”

Yahweh God said to the woman, “What have you done?”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

Yahweh God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, you are cursed above all livestock, and above every animal of the field.

You shall go on your belly and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.

I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring.

He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.” To the woman he said, “I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth.

You will bear children in pain.

Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

To Adam he said, “Because you have listened to your wife’s voice, and have eaten from the tree, about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ the ground is cursed for your sake. You will eat from it with much labor all the days of your life. It will yield thorns and thistles to you; and you will eat the herb of the field.

You will eat bread by the sweat of your face until you return to the ground, for you were taken out of it. For you are dust, and you shall return to dust.”

Yahweh God made garments of animal skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them.

Yahweh God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil.

Now, lest he reach out his hand, and also take of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever—” Therefore Yahweh God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.

So he drove out the man; and he placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.“

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭19‬, ‭21‬-‭24‬ ‭WEBUS‬‬

Question for Reflection~ if you could spare your child from seeing anything but the love that God made them to be and the beauty and joy they and all around them were designed to give to the world: could keep them filled with love and seeing the best in everyone and with no faults in anyone, only their excellence, honor and dignity, and as pure and having nothing evil whatsoever in them, would you not advise them to not eat from a tree that would poison their soul in such a way?

God would spare His children from eating from the devil’s tree for it poisoned our race with sin and death. Had Yahweh’s children believed God’s voice over His dark enemy’s voice, Adam and Eve would have remained in Paradise.

Oh My Jesus, My Immanuel God Is With Us ~Original Keyboard Instrumental & Vocal Meditations For The Christmas Season

Praise our wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing me with another Christmas album to share with you for this holy advent season as we celebrate the wonder surrounding the birth of our Lord.

The tracks on my latest release are more like a musical meditation reflecting the Christmas story when the album is considered as a whole unbroken composition. The songs are best listened to in sequence and meditated on while reading and praying through the Gospel stories related to the birth of Christ.

The Lord gave me a beautiful worship song for this album. It is simply called “The Jesus Worship Song”.

Very often I don’t know what to pray for even as the scriptures attest: In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, Romans 8:26- NASB1995

Though I often don’t know how to pray as I should, yet the Lord helps me pray the simplest, most unfailing prayer: the humble prayer of Jesus’ holy name.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus… name above all names, a prayer that is always according to the will of God that ever brings glory to the Father. For Jesus said, Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14 NASB1995

May I ever sing it, ever pray it, for it glorifies the Father, it honors my Savior who died for me to redeem my soul.

My Lord will ever pray God’s will for whatever my need, and His prayers are always answered according to His will…oh praise Him for His gift of this beautiful prayer song.

For even as I am praying Jesus’ name, Christ’s Holy Spirit is within me praying according to the Father’s will, as I worship my Lord. I know He knows how to pray even when I don’t.

“… but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”~ Romans 8:26-27 NASB2020

Some of God’s children will say the song is a “vain repetition…” (*see Matthew 6:7)

But truly anything is a vain repetition if it is done for God repeatedly and yet the heart is not in it. For then it is as dead and lifeless as a sculpted praying angel.

What are vain repetitions? What is a vanity?

Something performed without meaning.

If I am praying to God in church or my quiet time, and my heart is on lunch, or social media, my work, or myself, then my prayer is a vain repetition.

For I am repeating this religious ritual over and over and it is in vain that I am drawing near to Him with my lips, yet my heart is far from Him, for so the Lord Jesus said to the Pharisees.

Anything I do repeatedly with an empty heart toward God is a vain rhyming pattern or a binding chain that means nothing and leads no closer to Christ, but is in fact leading us farther from Him. For my heart is somewhere else. It’s not on Him.

He sees and knows if my heart is serving Him in truth or is a charade.

But when we pray to the Lord in Spirit and in truth, with a humble pure heart, our prayers are heard. Even when we do not know what to pray for.

For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” ~Philippians 2:9-11 NASB2020

The Lord is honored when we exalt His beautiful name in prayer, in worship, in every way we can!

May we proclaim His name throughout the whole earth and of it never be ashamed!

May our Lord and Savior be ever glorified! May we pray to ever love Him more and more, now and forever!

And may this prayer of His Holy Name be on the lips of all His children who like me, may not know how to pray sometimes.

The prayer song of His Holy name is a beautiful gift from Him.

For Jesus Christ is the Gift of the Father!

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”

2 Corinthians 9:15 NASB2020

In Jesus’ name amen.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

May Thy Holy Son be ever glorified through the songs You blessed us with this Christmas on this album, thank You so much! Please ever draw our hearts closer to Thee, to love You more and more, now and throughout all eternity.

Original Video Painting

God So Loved The World ~27 seconds

God So Loved The World is a 27 second scripture painting video the Lord blessed me with this past Saturday October 21, 2023.

After suffering from a severe migraine the Lord encouraged me to paint a picture of Christ with the crown of thorns, to remember that He’d once suffered violent pain in His head too when He died for all our sins. He understood my suffering and was with me. As I painted I felt His presence comforting me.
He gave me the scriptures in this video to meditate on after I felt better and could create this project ~~which I pray will encourage everyone as much as it has encouraged me, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Credits:

The Art software I used to paint the picture on my IPad is an app called Sketchbook. I used Adobe Software to add the animations and desing the graphics; I used IMovie to assemble the video and then Picollage to create a border around it.
😊 ~~I just discovered PicCollage could even create videos! What fun!

I have been too hampered with migraines to make many videos lately so am excited when the Lord does enable me with the grace to make one not only to comfort and encourage me, but to share with His children!

May this effort bless you all and remind you of His great love and sacrifice for each of us, especially if you are in a challenging situation, shadow valley, or suffering pain.

May all who read this know that you are ever in the Lord’s prayers. For the Bible says that Jesus is always praying for us at the right hand of His Heavenly Father every day and night, and He knows our every need, and His prayers are always answered according to God’s will at the right time. The Lord loves each of us as if we were the only child He had to love. He has no special favorites, for all are His favorites, In Jesus’ Name amen. 🙏🏽❤️💕

God Will Be Waiting

Most people assume that when someone becomes a Christian that their lives will be a glorious paradise afterwards.

That it will be as if Christ had come and whisked them off to Heaven and they will henceforth have no more troubles in this life.

But my walk with the Lord has been just the opposite.

And from my study of scripture, the Gospel teaches that Christians should expect suffering as a normal part of their journey with Christ.

One is either called to suffer or to serve those who are suffering.

There are no two ways about it.

Jesus said, “And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for My sake shall find it.” Matthew 10:38-39 KJV

All God’s children are equal and the Lord has no favorites.

Jesus said, “““…You are all equal as brothers and sisters…Whoever serves you like a servant is the greatest among you. People who think they are better than others will be made humble. But people who humble themselves will be made great.” Matthew 23:8-12 ERV

I live with an autoimmune illness that causes me to suffer from chronic daily migraines. These have been all but unbearable in the past few months. But for the grace of my precious Savior, I could not survive them.

When Christ saves a soul, it is not to take us out of this world, but to help us overcome it through His power, strength and grace.

Only Christ’s presence within me enables me to survive through the darkness of this illness.

Any artist or photographer who works primarily with graphics or photography software will be familiar with a function known as the invert tool that reverses an image from light to dark.

During severe migraines all of the light goes out of my heart and it’s as if I have been transposed into a shadowland of darkness.

I cry out to Christ to reverse me back into His world of light and love where there is peace, hope, and joy.

For in the inverted world of darkness there is no joy, hope, or peace, only intense suffering and pain.

Oh Jesus, I pray! Guard my heart from the world of darkness in this place of trouble and fear and pain.

And Jesus comes and holds my hand. He is with me in the storm and guides me safely through.

For His Word promises, “…Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23:3-4 KJV

And He keeps every promise forever. Psalm 146:6

He promises “… I will never leave you; I will never run away from you.” Hebrews 13:5 ERV

“Be strong and be brave. Don’t be afraid of those people because the Lord your God is with you. He will not fail you or leave you.””

Deuteronomy 31:6 ERV

God brings the soul who trusts in Him through their trials.

He has proved Himself faithful time and again as my saving strength.

No amount of prosperity, fame, money or anything material will purchase peace, joy, or health.

If one comes to Christ seeking Him for material blessings they will be sadly disappointed. For He is not found in secular things that can be lost in the blink of an eye. I lost my health in an instant and my world was upended in the prime of my life. Never would I have suspected that I would lose something I had taken so much for granted.

Christ is a spiritual God who will be there for the soul even when they have lost everything else in this world.

For the world and everything we see around us is passing away, and when it is gone, God will be there waiting for every child who believed, hoped, and trusted in Him all along.

Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 KJV

In Jesus’ name, amen.

This is a prayer poem that I made this morning in my journal after suffering from a horrible migraine. Once the Lord got me through the storm He helped me make this graphic so I could share this prayer. I pray He will use it to bless others who suffer through the shadow valleys as I do, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Redeemed For Resurrection in Christ

All glory be to our wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for this latest instrumental album Redeemed for Resurrection in Christ ~Original Keyboard Instrumental Prayers! The newest release is the natural follow up to the instrumental album “Behold The Lamb released in February 2023.

While “Behold The Lamb” is a musical meditation on Christ, the Lamb of God who sacrificed His life by dying on the cross for the sins of humanity, the theme of Redeemed For Resurrection asks listeners to reflect on what redemption in Christ actually means for the soul who receives Jesus as their Savior.

The Lord has always given me the titles for each song to use for His albums.

The titles are often inspired by a scripture.

The Lord revealed to me several years ago that His instrumentals were musical conversations intended to ignite intimate conversations~ prayer ~between Himself and the precious souls who take them into their prayer closets. (*see Matthew 6:6)

But when you pray, you should go into your room and close the door. Then pray to your Father. He is there in that private place. He can see what is done in private, and he will reward you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬ ‭ERV‬‬

The verse~ the song, was as a flame, a light to stimulate His children to go to their bibles, to seek His face, and believe by faith that Christ will teach them through His Word, by His Holy Spirit. For “…faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17

The Lord has promised in His Word to reveal Himself to His children who believe in Him and keep His commandments.

Jesus said, He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”

Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.” John 14:21, 23 NASB1995

And He promised “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:27-28 NASB1995

One caveat if we are of a worldly mindset, ( here is the dictionary definition of worldly: *of or concerned with material values or ordinary life rather than a spiritual existence: ie~ “…his ambitions for worldly success”)

~ then the Lord stressed that worldliness would be that one factor that would bar the Holy Spirit from entering the door of their heart.

Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments, and I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him…” John 14:15-17 NASB

A worldly heart, Jesus told His followers, cannot see the Holy Spirit or ever know Him. It could not ever know or walk with God.

I pray always that the Lord Jesus will speak to many through the things He shares through me to those who find them scattered throughout the earth.

Those gifts are always meant to help His children seek His face through His Word and pray directly to Him.

I believe the Lord desires to have an intimate relationship with His children even as Enoch walked in such a way with God.

The scriptures say “And Enoch walked with God and he was not, for God took him…” Genesis 5:24

Enoch also believed God. Because of Enoch’s faith, God took him away to heaven. He did not die like other people. As a result, nobody could ever find him, because God had taken him away. Before God took him away, it was clear that Enoch had made God happy.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭5‬ ‭EASY‬‬

Jesus said, ‘“This is eternal life that they might know God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent.” John 17:3

How can we know God if we don’t spend time with Him and read His Word?

The Lord had specifically said, “Do not self promote…”

All of the business models were in opposition to this plan. The Lord’s guidance did not make sense. “I don’t see how this will ever help Thy songs to reach Thy children,” I prayed. Of course He meant don’t self promote in the way the world does. Which seemed to be all the time. I was to share only as the Lord led me to share. He told me that when I published something to share His seeds and then whenever He asked me after that, but not until He said to.

But the Lord was always opposed to the never ending streams of commercial business advice and strategies for success that were ever being hurled at me.

So I just kept on doing what the Holy Spirit led me to do, ever relying on God’s Word, trusting that He who loved me would never fail me.

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” John 16:13 NASB1995

As far as the songs were concerned, I named them what the Holy Spirit led me to name them. For it was all His music.

The Lord said not to worry about trying to gain favor with the culture. I was to only care about God’s favor. All I had to do was to honor and obey Him.

The Lord impressed on my heart that what mattered to worldly vanity would never matter in the Lord’s Kingdom.

Each saint is the Lord’s temple in which Christ resides when they invite Jesus into their heart. (*see 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19)

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Conforming to the world He stressed had no place in Christ’s kingdom and can never serve Christ’s purposes. By conforming to the world He meant doing things that in a way that was not according to His will. He wanted me to abide in Him in prayer, to listen to His voice, and to trust Him by faith that He would lead me by His Holy Spirit down the right path. That He would not fail me. That He is real and not an imaginary Creator.

The Lord stressed that if I would trust Him, and do everything He asked that He would demonstrate His faithfulness to His Word. And so thirty six albums later He has not failed me and done everything exactly the way He has promised.

Jesus said, And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” John‬ ‭12‬:‭32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He told me His reality could only be manifested as I removed my focus from this world and off myself by gazing upwards in sincere worship, living for my Savior who had given Himself without reservations to redeem our souls so that we might serve Him in the resurrection of the new lives He had purchased for us through His death on the cross.

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭26‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Christ would teach His children these truths through His eternal Word as they sought Him with a pure heart.

God is love.

He has no favorites. He loves each of His children as if they were the only child He had to love. He longs for each of us to come to know Him and spend time with Him each day.

Jesus promised to reveal Himself to those who would believe.

Jesus said “This is the will of Him who sent Me,

that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing,

but raise it up on the last day.

For this is the will of My Father,

that everyone who beholds the Son

and believes in Him will have eternal life,

and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”

No one can come to Me unless

the Father who sent Me draws him;

and I will raise him up on the last day.

It is written in the prophets,

‘And they shall all be taught of God.’

Everyone who has heard

and learned from the Father,

comes to Me.”

John 6:39-40, 44-45 NASB1995

In Jesus name amen.

A Garden And A Path

In January of this year (2023) the Lord was leading me to work on an album of original prayersongs tentatively titled Paths of Praise Christian Worship Songs.

Suddenly He interrupted that work which I was completely focused on and switched directions. He asked me to create an album of traditional hymns as a gift for His children.

When the Lord changes my focus on a project it completely humbles me. This is because I do not like to be interrupted in a creative work, preferring to start and finish a project in a linear way.

And I like to be in control of everything.

However, the Lord Jesus Christ likes to remind me that He is in control of my life.

He is my Good shepherd and is guiding me. He has a purpose for everything He does and even when it makes no sense to me, I must be obedient and walk by faith, even though I don’t understand why He asks me to do something.

The Lord knew and that was enough. It might be maddening, but I got on my knees and prayed to submit to His will and for grace to learn whatever songs He wanted me to put on the hymn album.

The Lord gave me no more grace to work on my Paths of Praise album even when I tried. He definitely wanted me to focus on a hymn album and learn all new songs ~traditional hymns~which seemed daunting as my energy was now strained by a severe flare up of my auto immune illness. There were many days where I could do no work. I seemed a prisoner. But this I knew, Christ was in me and He was in control.

The music is the Lord’s. I’m His servant. Christ is the One who asked me to sing and gave me this gift to exalt His name in the earth for His glory.

For while I still don’t understand why the Lord wanted to redirect my focus from working on my Paths of Praise Album to work on the hymn album, now I’m glad I did.

As for the choice of hymns, I asked Mark what his favorite hymns were growing up in the Methodist Church.

I grew up in the Roman Catholic Church where we sang different songs from the traditional hymns that the Protestants are familiar with.

I remembered the lovely hymns Mama sang to us as children; hymns she had learned as a child attending a Baptist Church.

I presented a collection before the Lord and asked Him to guide me to His will. While learning to sing the hymns, the Lord’s Garden album presented a great challenge. Jesus mercifully gave me the grace and strength to accomplish what He had put on my heart to do by faith.

He also wanted me to sing “…In Jesus Name” at the end of every hymn.

Some might object to this. It is difficult to imagine that a Christian would find fault except perhaps that some of Christ’s precious children might reject these traditional hymns not because they objected to the Lord’s Name, but because they preferred their beloved hymns to be sung in the familiar way that they have always heard them sung in church.

These precious children of God have every right to their preference.

Below are the scriptures that the Lord inspires and motivates me in all the songs He gives me to glorify and exalt Christ’s name now…

“…speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;”

Ephesians 5:19-20 NASB1995

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.”

Colossians 3:17 KJV

The Lord has so strongly impressed upon my heart the importance to do all things to the glory of Christ’s name that I must do as He leads me.

Each of the redeemed are given a gift in Christ’s Kingdom that we might proclaim the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light…

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

1 Peter 2:9-10 NASB1995

“For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake. we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;”

2 Corinthians 4:5, 8-9 NASB1995

The Lord is shining in and through those who submit to His will! He desires to radiate His light through our weak, cracked vessels that He might be glorified through us. Paul wrote:

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;”

2 Corinthians 4:7 NASB1995

Malachi the prophet wrote that God would call those who loved and obeyed Him His jewels.

The Lord guides each of us to honor and exalt His name as we choose to walk in obedience to His will, eschewing the favor of humans and conformity to the culture so that we might please Christ no matter what our commitment to obey God’s will may cost us.

“Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon His name.

And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not.”
‭‭

Malachi‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paths of Praise Christian Worship Prayersongs

I love to draw and paint, this is my natural gift…and if left to myself would do this all day. But now I also love to sing ever since the Lord has given me the gift of music to praise Him with. I don’t have the energy to do all things though.

The prayersongs from the Paths of Praise Worship Album all came between 2009-2023. Some are the first prayersongs the Lord ever gave me and I’m excited to be publishing them for the first time. I’ve shared those earliest songs over the years with friends who were suffering, or with my first voice teachers. Songs like Christ’s Joy, For The Mountains May Depart, Secret Place, Sacrifice of Praise, Victory Song, The Lord is My Light and My Salvation, God is For Me; these are some of my earliest prayersongs that the Lord ever gave me. Though they are very joyful songs, they came out of a time of intense spiritual suffering.

*Most of the other prayersongs were written in January of this year with the exception of God is My Refuge which was also one of the earliest Prayersongs.

However, the Lord had me rewrite it.

Be Led By My Spirit is one of my favorites on the Paths of Praise album.

I was sitting one day in the kitchen and the Holy Spirit just sang that song through me. He inspired me to promptly record it.

If I don’t obey that impulse the song will not be remembered.

We Stand Before The Lord, Lord Deliver Me, and Let the Light in Me Not Be Darkness are three published spontaneous spiritual songs that the Lord gave me…but there are many more that are not published.

Obedience to the Lord’s voice within is so important when following Him.

Hebrews 11 tells of the people that heard God’s voice and obeyed Him by faith. They did not wait till they understood why He was asking them to do what He wanted. They just obeyed.

Faith responds to the voice of the Holy Spirit in obedience without the need for explanation because it trusts God.

It loves God. It knows and fears God.

How does it know, love and fear God?

Because it has a habit of abiding in God and studying His word and obeying Him.

God doesn’t want or need perfect people because there are none.

He just needs people that have faith and will listen to Him and obey Him.

God is seeking souls who don’t care what other people think, but who care only what God thinks about them.

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”

Hebrews 11:6 NASB1995

Two things are for certain. You and I will die.

We will stand before Christ.

He will then ask us, “Did you obey My voice?”

How will we hear His voice if we are too busy listening to other people?

How do we hear Christ’s voice?

We start by studying His Word.

We read the Gospels. For ourselves. Not someone’s interpretation, book, or blog, or commentary.

But we read the Gospels for ourselves and we go into our prayer closet and we get alone with Christ and pray to Him and ask Him to teach us and we pray to Him.

Christ has promised that His sheep can hear His voice.

He will speak to us. He will guide us. But we must have faith.

Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.””

John 10:27-30 NASB1995

The Lord Jesus Christ is alive, He is a real, risen Savior!

He is a God we can come to know…” *Christ’s Joy Prayersong

God Is A Refuge For The Oppressed

God Is A Refuge For The Oppressed Drawing Video

Here’s a new drawing video.

The vertical lines in the first frames suggest an oncoming tornado. Those lines normally would never have appeared and didn’t until the final edits.

When I saw them I was astonished. The Lord said not to remove them. He absolutely is the true Artist of not only all my drawings, but of each of our lives.

What often appear to be mistakes, disappointments, rebukes, shameful failures are things our Creator is engineering in our lives that from His perspective He is working out into something that will become a great Masterpiece. Which His Word declares that each of His children are in Ephesians 2:10. ♥️

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
‭‭

Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ ‭

May the Lord use this video to encourage you today, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Jesus Saves To The Uttermost

Jesus Saves To The Uttermost Timelapse Video Painting

Jesus Saves to The Uttermost is a Timelapse painting video using my left ((non-dominant) hand to paint with.

The music on the video is an instrumental song from my recent album Behold The Lamb. The video is very short so you will only hear but a snippet of the music.

The Lord Jesus has been blessing me with many portraits of Himself as I have been doing this physical therapy.

This painting began with what I assumed would be horses all the way through it! You never know where the Lord will lead you though. All He asks me when I paint is that I trust Him and follow His inspiration.

When I paint right handed however, since that hand has all the training and thinks it’s so smart and is it’s own master, it wants a to do list in hand and seems to plot out everything. I never get half the things done that hand plans for me to accomplish. I end up in bed with a migraine.

I hope my experience helps others who are like me and need to learn to lean on the Lord for His strength and trust Him. God is truly no respecter of persons. He will help anyone who trusts Him. He saves to the uttermost all who come to God through Christ. That means that the Lord will do anything according to His will to help that soul when they put their faith in Him.

I want to share these painting practices with you in the hopes that they will encourage you as much as the Lord is encouraging me through them.

“We should think about each other to see how we can encourage each other to show love and do good works.”

Hebrews 10:24 ERV

May our Heavenly Father bless you, in Jesus Name, amen.

Jesus Said, “Of That Day And Hour No One Knows but the the Father.”

Jesus said, Of That Day And Hour No one Knows_ not even the angels in Heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Mark 13:32

This is the third video in a series of Time lapse prayer paintings I’ve done since Sunday. I published them on YouTube.

I rarely publish my Timelapse paintings. But these I felt inspired to share because they are for the most part, efforts to paint with my non dominant, or left hand. I’m normally right handed and have always done everything with that beloved instrument. But after I broke my left humerus my left hand was weakened.

The Lord inspired me to write and draw with my left hand to strengthen it. This was humbling act of faith. When I have a bad migraine, it is well nigh impossible. But the three efforts I’ve published since Monday show my progress since I began doing as the Lord directed about a month ago. My hand has become stronger.

I encourage all who are timid about trying something challenging because it seems impossible. The Lord will help. For He truly has helped me and He is no Respecter of persons. His Word never lies.

I pray the short video will encourage you. The other two are also on YouTube should you want to watch them.

May God bless you all, in Jesus name, amen. ❤️

Behold The Lamb- The 33rd Album From Christ

Behold The Lamb Album Art and link to Album tracks —meditative Christian Instrumentals Inspired by the Holy Spirit, focusing on the Redemptive Work of Christ from the Gospel of John.
Album Art For Behold The Lamb

It is with the greatest joy that I share with you my latest release of Christian Instrumentals~ appropriately titled “Behold The Lamb.”

Why is that an appropriate name for the thirty-third album of musical instrumentals whose tracks and music are focused on various passages in the life of Christ from the Gospel of John?

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, spilled His spotless blood on the cross as an eternal sacrifice to pay for the deliverance from our sins at the age of thirty three.

I could never have known ten years ago when the Lord inspired me to publish my first album that He would give me thirty-three albums of music to glorify His name throughout the earth~or astonishingly, that He would prompt me to call the thirty-third album of music to His children “Behold The Lamb.”

The Lord encouraged me several years ago to write an attribution on the cover (or somewhere visible) on all my works that they are accomplished “…through the Indwelling Risen Lord Jesus Christ, Inspired by the Holy Spirit, to the Glory of God, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”

Why did He do this?

He wanted to remind not only me, but all of His children that Christ said always it was His Father within Him that did His miracles, and that apart from His Father He could do nothing.

Jesus said, ““Abide in Me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,
except it abide in the vine;
no more can ye, except ye abide in Me.”
‭‭

John‬ ‭15‬:‭4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“I am the vine, ye are the branches:
He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.”
‭‭
https://bible.com/bible/1/jhn.15.5.KJV

John‬ ‭15‬:‭5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I must remind everyone that my music from the Lord is truly a miracle gift. For I wasn’t a musician until Christ sovereignly dropped His music gift into my lap and asked me to do this work for Him. (*I’m not a trained musician and can only play or sing the music that the Lord gives me for His children. I truly can do none of my work apart from Christ.)

Jesus Christ said that He was going to dwell within each of His children who would keep His Words, and abide in Him.

Jesus said, “Don’t you believe that I am in the Father,
and the Father in Me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from Myself; but the Father who lives in Me does His works.”

When we believe and act by faith on Jesus’ words, He really does show that He is the risen Lord and Savior and manifests Himself to our hearts.

He directs and guides our life;

His Holy Spirit comes to live in our hearts and we become the living temples of the Holy Spirit.

Christ manifests His reality to the world through our faith and obedience to Him.

We honor and worship Him by obeying Him.

Often our obedience to Christ is misunderstood and therefore misinterpreted.

But we cannot worry about what others will think about us, or allow their opinion or even rejection of us deter us from obeying our Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ must be our Head, our supreme Authority, our King and God, or else we have an idol.

Jesus said that no man can have two masters.

““You cannot serve two masters at the same time.
You will hate one and love the other, or you will be loyal to one and not care about the other.
You cannot serve God and Money
at the same time.”

Each Christian who calls on Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior is a living temple wherein the Spirit of Christ dwells.

“Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Each professing Christian is a human representative or ambassador of Christ on earth who is proclaiming to the world that the risen Lord Jesus Christ lives within them.

“Look closely at yourselves. Test yourselves to see if you are living in the faith. Don’t you realize that Christ Jesus is in you? Of course, if you fail the test, He is not in you.”

The Lord Jesus Christ redeemed us with His spotless blood and only has our best interest in mind.

His Word admonishes us to seek the Lord, for we cannot cultivate our relationship with Him without abiding in fellowship with our Lord.

Each one of these verses is an admonition to remain in the presence of the Lord.

Rejoice always…be joyful how, and why?

We give our praise to God for His wondrous blessings!

What is one of His beautiful blessings? Forgiveness. He forgives all our sins. He suffered and died on the cross to forever cleanse us from the stain of sin.

Others may condemn us for our faults but read what the scriptures say and rejoice in Christ!

“Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect [when it is] God Who justifies [that is, Who puts us in right relation to Himself? Who shall come forward and accuse or impeach those whom God has chosen? Will God, Who acquits us?] Who is there to condemn [us]? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who died, or rather Who was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭33‬-‭34‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

https://bible.com/bible/8/rom.8.33-34.AMPC

We meditate on Christ and the precious gifts we have in Him.

Pray without ceasing..this is abiding in Christ’s presence and it takes a choice admittedly and a determination not to abide in the world or conform to it.

Give thanks in all circumstances, and this is really a difficult one, but we can still abide in Christ here even when we vent to Him because Hebrews 4 says:

“Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭ESV‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/59/heb
.4.14-16.ESV

No matter what our issue, if we choose to, we can abide in Christ or His Word would not have said it was His Will for us to do so.

Truly, I know these spiritual practices are challenging and take much perseverance and prayer.

But our Lord loves each of us very much. He redeemed us with His blood, therefore He paid the highest possible price for our souls.

But when we live in a right way, it is like living in the light. God is always in the light. So, if we live in the light, we share together in the life which God gives. And when Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross, He saved us from all our sins. The blood of His sacrifice makes us clean. If we say that we never do any wrong thing, we are deceiving ourselves. Even though we may think it is true, it is a lie. Instead, we should agree that we have done wrong things and tell that to God. Then God will forgive us for our sins. He always does what He has promised to do. He always does what is right. He will forgive us and He will make us clean again, whatever bad things we may have done. God says that all people have done wrong things. So, if we say that we have not done any wrong thing, we are saying that God tells lies. It shows that we have not accepted His message at all.”

When we stumble and make mistakes, (and we all do because we are human, not one of us is perfect,) Jesus does not condemn us; when we humbly go to Him and ask, He forgives us and says, “…let’s try again.”

His Spirit within us is there to help us hear His voice in our hearts and want to obey Him. (*See Romans 8)

Jesus is on our side.
He wants to help us succeed in accomplishing His will.
All we need do is abide in Him and pray,
and keep true to His Word daily.
He will take care of manifesting Himself to our hearts, teaching us His word,
and showing us His will.

I’m very excited about sharing the Lord’s new album inspired by the Holy Spirit as a tribute to Christ’s life and redemptive ministry, and pray that the Lord will speak through His Word to each heart that listens to His songs and encourage them mightily with His love and grace, in Jesus’ name, amen.

An Angel’s Heart

Detail from Peaceangelsong’s Gifts Christmas Greeting & Encouraging Card Collection “God’s Holy Angels”

Angels are important to us spiritually for we learn what God desires in the hearts of those who love and serve Him as we study His Word and reflect on what it teaches us.

From Psalm 103 we learn that one of the most important things about angels is that they are primarily God’s servants who hear God’s voice, and are always obedient to do the Lord’s will.

“Bless the LORD, ye His angels, that excel in strength, That do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word. Bless ye the LORD, all ye His hosts; Ye ministers of His, that do His pleasure.”

Psalm 103:20-21 KJV

From the Bible we learn that an Angel of God always hears God’s voice and obeys His will. God’s angels love God and trust Him.

But wasn’t the devil once one of God’s Angels?

Ezekiel the prophet wrote in reference to the anointed angel who became the devil: “Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.”

Ezekiel 28:15 KJV

• What does that word perfect mean?

תָּמִים

tâmı̂ym ~taw-meem’ Concordance)

(From the Strong’s Bible Concordance

From H8552; entire (literally, figuratively or morally); also (as noun) integrity, truth: – without blemish, complete, full, perfect, sincerely (-ity), sound, without spot, undefiled, upright, whole.

Strong’s Bible Concordance

What turned this Angel’s heart against his Master and Creator?

One of things the Bible mentions was enormous vanity and pride. “Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.”

Ezekiel 28:17 KJV

Concerning the devil, Jesus had a few things to say. In speaking to the religious authorities who appeared perfect and flawlessly righteous outwardly, yet inwardly, in their hearts they were very corrupt.

Jesus said to them, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

John 8:44 KJV

Perfect is to God an altogether different concept from what is conceived by the devil and those formerly holy angels the evil one deceived into joining him in rebelling against our Creator.

God’s idea of perfection is a far cry from what humans imagine who have been seduced by the enemy into focusing on themselves and their appearance, on what they do, and if they do it better than others; how much money they earn, and how they can earn more, and then how they can best show off their success to others.

Depending on their age many souls are absorbed with either their popularity, their looks, their health, their jobs, school, career, their family, social media, etc.

Since they can’t see or hear Christ, they simply dismiss Him as irrelevant to their lives. They will value everything the world prizes rather than believing in what the Bible says is true.

They will not seek to know and love God for themselves in a vertical, personal relationship. For deep down they have a mistrust of spiritual, unseen things.

However God treasures those spiritual qualities in the soul who will listen to His voice, trust, and obey Him regardless of what anyone says or thinks about them, or what their obedience to Him might cost them.

It is a heart that completely acknowledges who God is, seeks to abide every moment in total submission to His sovereign authority, and to the Lord’s rightful expectation of worship that is due Him from their spirit, soul, mind and body.

It combines those attributes into a heart that passionately loves and desires to worship Him more than anything else.

God is their whole reason and motivation for living.

Such a heart looks like Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

The Gospel of Matthew relates that on the Eve of His Crucifixion, in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was praying to His Heavenly Father and sweating great drops of blood, His temptations were so dreadful.

And Jesus went a little further, and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me: nevertheless not as I will, but as Thou wilt.”

Matthew 26:39 KJV

The first commandment states, ““You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 ERV

God tries the heart His Word says. He tests us to see what we are made of. “For thou, O God, hast proved us: Thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.”

Psalm 66:10 KJV

Therefore we undergo trials and afflictions according to His Word. And when we suffer we are to rejoice.

“In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;”

1 Peter 1:6-7 NASB1999

“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

James 1:2-4 NASB1995

No human will ever reach complete perfection this side of heaven. Only Christ was perfect. But Christ is always working on the hearts He redeemed with His spotless blood, and who have committed their lives to Him.

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
‭‭

Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Though the Christian is saved by God’s grace and given Christ’s righteousness, the Apostle Paul reminds us that we must not continue to live in sin once we ask Jesus to be our Lord and Savior.

“So, my brothers and sisters, we must not be ruled by our sinful selves. We must not live the way our sinful selves want. If you use your lives to do what your sinful selves want, you will die spiritually. But if you use the Spirit’s help to stop doing the wrong things you do with your body, you will have true life. The true children of God are those who let God’s Spirit lead them.”

Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭ERV‬‬

It is the Lord’s work in our lives to sanctify us within. We participate in this process through our obedience to Him. Our will must always be to do Christ’s will.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
‭‭

Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God wants a soul to care what He thinks about them more than what the public or their family or friends think about them.

God is more interested in knowing that we esteem His honor, affirmation, and encouragement than the popularity, honor, and esteem of the world.

If we must have the world’s favor rather the esteem and honor that the Lord wants to bestow upon us for obeying His will, then we show Him that we neither love, fear, nor truly have any real faith in Him.

“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, “If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭24‬-‭26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we do not really believe that we can hear and discern Christ’s voice so that we can learn to know His will for us, then we do not really believe that the teaching of the risen Lord Jesus Christ is true.

“Jesus answered them…My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father’s hand.
I and My Father are one.”

John 10:25, 27-30 KJV

“Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”

Ephesians 5:17 KJV

The holy Angels of the Most High God live to worship and obey the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.

Like the Angels who sang over the fields in Bethlehem on the first Christmas.

“Glory to God in the highest…”

Luke 2:14 KJV

They worship and glorify God always in the way He directs them.

God’s Angels exist to extol the perfections of their Creator, not their own.

For the moment an Angel’s mind becomes self focused it is no longer holy, and is transformed like vain Lucifer into a devil and must be thrust from the Lord’s presence.

Perfectionism is self focused, ever working to please humans. It never glorifies God, but exhausts itself trying to appear as if it had no visible flaws.

Jesus warned the Pharisees (religious rulers) that even though they appeared morally flawless outwardly, that in their hearts they were filled with dead men’s bones. He called them hypocrites.

Satan, the once beautiful, upright anointed Angel of God, a creature who seemed perfect and without fault, until “… iniquity was found in him, ” once beheld the beautiful face of God and worshiped Him.

So also did the third of the Angels whom the devil led into a rebellion against the Almighty.

They did not remain in their position with God because they trusted and believed an unholy lie.

What had been light became dark and corrupted with evil.

Whatever we might imagine we are outwardly, if we don’t truly know the Risen Lord Jesus Christ, if we do not seek His face in private personal prayer, humbly abiding in continual fellowship with Him, listening for His voice, and know and understand by faith His Word and will, and obey it, then we are in danger of offering our Lord the outwardly perfect sacrifice of the Pharisees and of Cain, instead of the sacrifice God has asked us for, which Cain’s brother Abel, and which Christ gave to the Lord, and which found favor with God.

Both Abel’s and Christ’s sacrifices involved the absolute submission of their entire wills to God. In both cases it was not necessarily the gift they desired to give to God, but the gift God desired from them.

Jesus said, “And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ,
whom Thou hast sent.”
‭‭

John‬ ‭17‬:‭3‬ ‭

Prayer

Heavenly Father, may You give me a humble, holy heart just like the Angels, that exists to hear Thy voice and obey Thee, to worship and extol Thy perfections, and those of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, thank You, I love You, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Rehearsing God’s Faithfulness

Rehearsing God’s Faithfulness in Troubling Times

It was 5 weeks ago today that I fell and broke my left humerus.

I didn’t think I could survive this affliction the pain was so excruciating and it left me quite debilitated.

But here it is five weeks later and the Lord has helped me persevere despite what I was dead certain I could not live through. He is showing me yet again that He will never fail me in the trials He takes me through. He in His limitless love, mercy, and faithfulness has provided everything I’ve needed and so much support and prayer from so many wonderful people.

Through every trial He takes me, though it’s never pleasant, I’m always reminded He is always with me and He never fails. If He hasn’t failed me thus far, then I don’t have to walk in fear and doubt that next time a crisis occurs, He might slip up.

But as the following scripture passage from the Book of Hebrews relates, that is just what happened long ago to God’s special people whom He rescued from Egypt.

“God’s Holy Spirit says this:

‘You must listen when you hear God speak today.

Do not refuse to obey Him.

Do not be like God’s people many years ago.

When they travelled in the wilderness, they turned against Me.

They wanted to see if I would punish them.

For 40 years your ancestors saw the great things that I did.But still they did not obey Me.

That is why I became angry with them. I said, “They always want to do what is wrong. They refuse to understand My message.”

Because of that, I promised to punish them. Because I was angry with them, I said, “They will never arrive in My special place of rest.” ’

So be careful, my Christian friends. Do not refuse to trust God.That would be a very bad thing to do.

Do not turn away from the God who lives for ever.

Instead, help each other to be strong every day.

Today, you can still hear God’s message.

While that is still true, do not refuse to obey God.

Do not think that sin will not hurt you. That is a lie.

We must continue to trust Christ very well, as we did when we first believed in Him.

We must continue to trust Him until the end of our lives.

Then we will share in everything that is His. We have seen what the Bible says:

‘You must listen when you hear God speak today. Do not refuse to obey Him.

Hebrews 3:7-14 EASY

FEAR AND DOUBT

The Hebrew children saw God’s mighty works, His miracles, for forty years as they traversed the desert wilderness.

God often tested their faith, but instead of trusting Him building on the experience of how He’d brought them through the previous times, they repeatedly fussed, doubted, and complained against God and grew not in their faith.

They seemed never to cross that bridge of fear and worry to advance with God toward the Promised Land.

This gives us a sobering message and warning.

For all God’s children will be tested in our faith according to His Word. However the Lord asks that we trust Him.

How often The Lord in His mercy has spoken to my heart in the midst of countless afflictions, “These troubles are not going to kill you. However, fear, stress, doubt, and depression ~ now these are the dark things that can kill you. But trust, hope and faith will conquer those things and you have to choose to walk with Me by faith.”

“Many adversities come to the one who is righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all.”

Psalms 34:19 HCSB

He protects all his bones; not one of them is broken.”

Psalms 34:20 HCSB

I asked the Lord, why He didn’t keep His scripture promise to protect my bones.

The Holy Spirit reminded me that first of all Psalm 34:20 is a prophecy referring to the Lord Jesus Christ specifically, but in a metaphorical sense the Lord will keep all the bones of His children from breaking always.

What are bones? They are the foundation of our body. And God in this verse is promising to hold together my very foundation no matter what adversity I might have to face from any trial He puts me through. Jesus Christ God’s Son, holds all things together, even the very foundation of my being.

“Christ is before all things, and by Him all things hold together.”

Colossians 1:17 HCSB

No matter if everything seems like it is going to fall apart, Christ is still here, ever present, holding all things together. His word promises “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of His nature, sustaining all things by His powerful word…” Hebrews 1:3 HCSB

Peter wrote:

“You are being protected by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. You rejoice in this, though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials so that the genuineness of your faith —more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire —may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

1 Peter 1:5-7 HCSB

Whatever challenge we may find ourselves in right now, it is a good idea to look back over the trials we have faced in the past and write down how God has brought us through those hard times.

Rehearse how faithful the Lord has been to you and give Him thanks. This practice will strengthen your faith.

I know He has never failed our family or anyone I can think of who has trusted in Him. So many people I know have amazing stories to tell of His awesome faithfulness.

We might be tempted to think that if the Hebrew children had taken the time to review God’s amazing miracles with each trial they faced during their forty year sojourn, perhaps faith would have overcome doubt and fear.

However, no one can judge them. For it must have been very hard for those people. Whenever I put myself in their shoes I shudder and thank our merciful God for sending His Son Jesus Christ to be the propitiation for our sins, He is our Mercy Seat.

Personally I know from some of the testings the Lord has put me through that I am certainly no better than His precious Hebrew children were. And I am so grateful for His mercy and grace expressed in the sacrifice of His Son. For we turn the chapter and the writer of Hebrews offers us hope:

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens —Jesus the Son of God —let us hold fast to the confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tested in every way as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us at the proper time.”

Hebrews 4:14-16 HCSB

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins that we may be forgiven and made Yours forever. Help us to review the ways in which You have come through for us in the past and trust that You will never fail us no matter what is going on now to challenge our faith. Thank You, Lord, we love You, In Jesus holy name, amen.

Prayer For Wisdom

“Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God — who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly — and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord, being double-minded and unstable in all his ways.”

Two Chances

When I first fell about three weeks ago, my whole body was screaming with the worst pain I’d ever felt. I wanted more than anything to die. Throughout my agony in the hospital I cried and prayed for Jesus to please come take me Home and rescue me from this ordeal. Having already fallen flat on my face from a dead faint onto a hardwood floor back in November and miraculously only suffering painful bruising, a black eye, and bloody nose, then losing Mama and my precious sister Nancy, enduring vicious migraines every day, and fierce tension knots, I felt like this new affliction was the last straw. No way did I want to face this new trial.

~~Unlike King David, the man after God’s own heart, who, when God put through a dark trial, he faithfully prayed,

“Your favor, O Lord, made me as secure as a mountain. Then You turned away from me, and I was shattered.I cried out to You, O Lord. I begged the Lord for mercy, saying, “What will You gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise You? Can it tell of Your faithfulness? Hear me, Lord, and have mercy on me. Help me, O Lord.””

Psalms 30:7-10 NLT

No, I was not good like David, for the very last thing I thought of was praising the Lord in my pain, alas. I screamed in bitter agony.

The Bible says that the dead praise not the living God, however He seeks a people who will praise and glorify Him despite their trials.

“The dead cannot sing praises to the Lord, for they have gone into the silence of the grave. But we can praise the Lord both now and forever! Praise the Lord!” Psalms

115:17-18 NLT

I learned that if I truly love the Lord I would endure despite the pain and continue to trust Him believing He will come through in the end. By His Almighty grace, I have determined to seek for ways that I can praise Him during this trial.

For His Word tells us that God’s mercies are new every morning, great is His faithfulness. Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

One thing I will praise the Lord for is giving me such a wonderful husband. Ever since I fractured my humerus I’ve had to rely on Mark for assistance in doing everything ~~even doing my hair. Mark finds this task quite difficult and I must admit he has a gift for making really bad hairstyles. They are so awful that they are hilarious and make me laugh. I wish I had been documenting these crazy styles. Even JJ, our Yorkie, noticed him fixing my hair one day. Her little black eyes seemed to pop as she suddenly halted and hopped fast backwards out of the room, We both wish we could’ve documented her reaction on video.

Well, the night he made my hair look like I was wearing an ice bag, I could not stop laughing. I then said, “Honey, can’t you just manage a simple braid?”

I texted a friend about the issue. She told me that her daughter was really gifted at braiding hair and had her own website dedicated to braiding, and she gave me the URL.

I told Mark and sent him to the website. “Here is your chance, honey. Study her techniques and you will soon be braiding my hair!”

I was hopeful as I saw him intently studying two of the braiding videos. But when I noticed how complicated the braids were my heart sank.

Sure enough he soon gave up overwhelmed. Closing his laptop he looked at me and said, “You have two chances for me to ever braid your hair~ fat chance and no chance!”

I pouted. Why could he not have just chosen a video on how to do a simple braid?

Well, the next day the home health care nurse who comes to help me wash my hair and bathe said that she used to run her own hair braiding business on the side till she had her baby!

Would I like for her to braid my hair? She gave me two long beautiful French braids on either side of my head!

Here was my loving God giving me a chance to replace Mark’s fat chance and no chance!

How I praise Him for showing me His love and mercy in that special way!

And that wasn’t the end of the story either.

The next morning my Occupational Therapist came and wanted to braid my hair. She did a beautiful job. Once again, God demonstrated His love and mercy sending two people to braid my hair!

The dead praise not the living God but I will praise Him for these special ways He blessed me.

And the praising for His amazing blessings does not end there.

We went to the orthopedic doctor for a check up and while she did not see a great deal of improvement in the fracture as it was huge; she said it was going to take time and to be patient; after testing me she said I had no nerve damage!

This was very encouraging to me! She said with this kind of injury they sometimes see nerve damage in the hand so it was very good that I had none.

Glory to our wonderful God!

And today after Mark had graced me with another awful hairstyle last night that was truly hilarious, I went into the bathroom and prayed to be able to braid my own hair.

And God be praised~ He really helped me do it ~despite my broken arm!

God helped me braid my own hair despite my broken arm! Praise our awesome Lord Jesus Christ!

Fat chance and no chance are God’s chances in the eternal realms of the Almighty.

“Lord, You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give You thanks forever!”

Psalms 30:11-12 NLT

God Will Restore

The God Of Grace and Mercy

The God of Grace and mercy,

Who called you to be His,

Who loves you and has evermore

Cast away your sins

Through the cross of Jesus

Who suffered, bled, and died,

Then rose again from death that

God your soul could justify

And clothe you with the righteousness

Of His Son Jesus Christ…

This God of grace and mercy

Though He test your faith

Will be with you in every trial

To fill you with His strength:

When you think you can’t endure

A moment more He comes

And whispers to thy heart,

“My child, now don’t give up,

Thy victory I’ve won,

Thy strength is weak, rely on Me,

Through Me you’ll overcome;

This path you can endure,

I’m with you in thy heart,

Lean on Me, make Me thy strength

No never, don’t give up.

Soon this path will end

All will be well again,

Trust Me on this journey

There’s hope around the bend,

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

(in ourselves & other people & our circumstances & in God) ~ Philippians 4:8 NLT

*See Philippians 4: 8

God is looking for the good in His redeemed children, not for faults, not for things to condemn.

Christ came not to condemn, but to save us. (*See John 3:17)

What is true about God?

God is love

1 John 4:8

“Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds; Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, Your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O Lord.”

Psalms 36:5-6 NLT

“The Lord forgives all my sins, and heals all my diseases, He redeems me from death, and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!

Psalm 103:3-5 NLT

Psalm 103:9-10 NLT

For God’s unfailing love toward those who fear Him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.

Psalm 103:11-12

The Lord is like a father to His children, tender and compassionate to those who fear Him. For He knows how weak we are; He remembers we are only dust.”

Psalms 103:13-14 NLT

For the needy shall not alway be forgotten, The expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.”

Psalm 9:18 KJV

What is true about God’s redeemed children?

For one thing, we are a new creature in Christ, old things are passed away. God has done a new thing in us, we are reborn in Christ and He has given to us His own righteousness.

“When anyone belongs to Christ, they become a new person. Their old way of life has gone. Their new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17

Christ never did any wrong thing, but God punished Him as if He had. He died as punishment for our sins. As a result, we become right with God when we belong to Christ. We become right, because He is right.” 2Corinthians 5:21 Easy English Bible

“Nobody can say that God’s people are guilty. God himself has accepted us as right with him. So nobody can say that God should still punish us. Nobody can say that, because Christ Jesus himself died on our behalf.

And God raised Christ up so that He became alive again after His death. Now Christ is sitting at God’s right side in heaven. He himself is praying to God on our behalf.

Christ will always continue to love us.Nothing can stop that! We may have troubles.

Things may make us sad or afraid.People may do bad things to us.

We may have no food or no clothes. There may be great danger.

People may even try to kill us.

But none of these things can stop Christ from loving us.

As it says in the Bible: ‘Because we are your people, God, people try to kill us all the time. They think that we are like sheep, and we are ready to be killed.’

Because God loves us, none of these troubles can ever beat us.

He makes us win against them. I am sure of this.

Nothing can stop God from loving us.

Death cannot do that. Life cannot do that.

Angels cannot do that, nor can demons do that.

Nothing that happens to us now, or that will happen in a future time can do that.

No powerful spirits can do that.

Nothing that is high above the world can do that,

nor anything that is deep down below the ground.

Nothing else in the whole universe can stop God from loving us.

Because of our Lord Christ Jesus, we know how much God loves us.”

Romans 8:33-39 Easy English Bible

Heavenly Father,

Teach us to learn about and then to focus on whatsoever things are true about You, and ourselves, those things in us that are positive, and virtuous, pure and lovely, worthy of praise and of good report; help us not to look for faults or things to condemn ourselves for and feel guilty over; for You forgive our sins and give us the righteousness of Thy Son Jesus Christ, You love us very much, and look for the good in us. Thank You for being so kind to us to save us from our sins through Thy Son Jesus Christ, in Jesus name, amen.

The Lord Will Wash Away All Our Tears Someday

Lord, Help Me Endure

“Lord Help Me Endure To The End” is a prayer song inspired by a scripture verse that Jesus spoke to His disciples when He was talking to them about prophetic events of the dark last days.

Jesus said, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

Matthew 24:13 KJV

What does the word Jesus used for endure mean?

ὑπομένω hupomenō~~Thayer Definition:

1) to remain, 1a) to tarry behind, 2) to remain, i.e. abide, not recede or flee,

2a) to persevere under misfortunes and trials to hold fast to one’s faith in Christ

2b) to endure, bear bravely and calmly: ill treatments

This verse with its word meaning has spoken volumes to me as I have studied and meditated over them.

I’m so thankful the Lord gave me this prayer song to encourage me to meditate on this verse as I seek Him in prayer and in His Word, especially now.

No stranger to affliction being a sufferer of chronic daily migraines and fibromyalgia, I was painting to distract myself from pain early one morning last month.

Mark reminded me of an appointment I had to get ready for so I got in a rush to print my painting and get ready for the day.

Alas, as I rounded the corner of my bed I tripped and fell backwards landing on my left side and crashed onto the hardwood floor.

Horrified, I saw my left arm detached from my body. In excruciating pain, I thought my hip and neck were broken, as they were hurting as much as my arm and shoulder, also I could not move. Talk about screaming. My beloved Mark was by my side in a second.

I had to be taken to the hospital where they did imaging. Not only did I have bruises all over the left part of my body, but the X-Rays and scans revealed that I’d severely fractured my left humerus. Thank the Lord I had broken nothing else. I returned home with my left arm in a heavy splint and sling. It was so heavy in fact, I could barely walk. The pain was unbearable. I learned how disabled one is made by such a severe injury.

At first I just felt manacled by that awful splint and was sent into panic mode in certain positions. I was in more pain than I’d ever been in my life and I begged God to take me to Heaven. He kept saying nope. Not only did I find the pain beyond my endurance, I couldn’t tolerate being so helpless and dependent on others for assistance in EVERYTHING.

The Lord said, “ENDURE.”

Hadn’t I suffered enough, I asked.

The Lord was not going to let me off the hook.

He reminded me of the prayer song He had given me, “Lord Help Me Endure To The End.”

He reminded me of the other prayer song with lyrics He had given me on my most recent release Paths of Faith, “I Will Lay Down My Life.”

Migraines flared up the agony in my fractured arm even more. The wretched splint caused huge tormenting tension knots in my back and neck. I could not get comfortable nor sleep in my bed but had to sleep in Mark’s recliner.

Despite my misery, the Lord showered me with rivers of His measureless mercy. He sent wonderful home healthcare people to assist me. They always ended up telling me about folks who were far worse off than I was and this would somehow comfort me because I not only then felt I was not alone in my pain, it motivated me to pray for people who suffered as I did.

Prayer was the only way I could lay my life down in love for others because of my disability, while others were laying their lives down in love for me. The Lord always sent me people with the most cheerful attitudes. They somehow could make me laugh despite my intense pain.

Our son flew home from LA to help my husband with my care.

Our daughter being tied up with myriad issues in Tucson did many wonderful things for us that we needed assistance with by ordering things we required and had them sent to us.

We were surrounded by love. God showed His mercy and faithfulness in so many ways that helped me to hang on when I thought I could not endure another moment of pain. Many from our church sent beautiful cards and prayers while our friend Sharon came and stayed with me twice so Mark could run some necessary errands.

Our Pastor came over and anointed me with oil and prayed for my healing. All of these beautiful expressions of God’s love comforted me, reminding me that our Heavenly Father still loved me despite my suffering.

One night after I finally fell asleep exhausted from the pain, I dreamed that the Lord Jesus Christ came down from Heaven and into my living room. He stood by the recliner where I lay sleeping and He checked on my arm as if He were a doctor checking on my progress. I dreamed this two nights in a row. I woke up very comforted both times, assured of His love for me.

But on days when the hours stretched by and my pain level stayed at a ten I became depressed and wept, praying for God’s mercy and repenting for everything I could think of that might have upset the Lord. For when we go through serial trials we can’t help but look up and ask the Lord, “What did I do wrong?”

Whenever I ask the Lord questions like that He refers me to His Word. From the Epistle of James: “My Christian friends, remember to be happy, even when many kinds of trouble happen to you. Troubles can help you. God wants to see if you really trust Him. Your faith in God will become stronger as a result of these troubles. So you should continue to trust God all the time. Then you will become stronger as a Christian. You will become completely how you should be. You will not need anything more.” James 1:2-4 (*Easy English Bible)

The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to comfort me and assure me that God is using my trials to enlarge my faith.

We thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, because He is so good to us. As our Father, He is very kind to us. He is our God who comforts us in every way. Whenever we have trouble, He comforts us. Because of that, we ourselves can comfort other people. When they have any kind of trouble, we can comfort them, in the same way that God has comforted us. Christ himself received much pain, and God comforted Him. As Christ’s servants, we also receive the same kind of pain. But, God also comforts us very much, because we belong to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 *(Easy English Bible)

Peter the Apostle wrote that we should expect to have suffering and trials as Christians.

“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” 1 Peter 4:12-13 KJV

Peter asserted that suffering and pain motivate the Christian to do God’s will instead of their own will, even as Christ did His Father’s will on earth.

“Christ had trouble and pain while He lived in His human body. So you should prepare yourselves to have trouble and pain too. Think about it in the same way that Christ did. If someone has trouble and pain in his body, he stops doing wrong things. As a result, that person will want to do what God wants him to do. In his life in this world, he will not want to do the bad things that people think are good.” 1 Peter 4:1-2 (*Easy English Bible)

That is why we never give up.

Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!

So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen.

For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” ~ 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NLT (*New Living Translation)

Meditations For The Journey

Meditations For The Journey~Original Keyboard Instrumentals © ℗ 2022 Suzanne Davis Harden, All Rights Reserved.

Meditations for the Journey~Original Keyboard Instrumentals-is the thirtieth album of published music the Lord has given me to share since 2013.

The first album the Lord gave me was God’s Rainbow Promise. That first release was to be a harbinger of the three main types of music
that the Lord would be producing through me for the next nine years: both original vocal prayer songs and instrumentals, and traditional Christian hymns.

We serve a risen Lord and Savior who desires very much to communicate with us. That is why He revealed to me that He gave me this music; He said that they are His musical conversations and that if people will take them into their prayer closets along with their Bibles and listen to them (or even just a clip) and read His Word, looking up the scripture reference the song title points to, by faith trusting He’ll speak to them, He will indeed speak to their hearts.

Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow me…”

John 10:27 KJV

The Lord asked me to become a musician according to His purpose and plan. I was not a musician before He dropped this beautiful gift in my lap. I didn’t know why the Lord would take a soul who cared only about music as something to listen to while creating art, and would make her into someone whom He created music through for His glory and honor.
I look at all of the music He has made through me and am astonished. I know it is the Lord’s work and not mine.

The other day He inspired me to sit down and listen to the songs on Meditations for the Journey and contemplate them during my quiet time. He had me concentrate on the music, then reference the scripture passages the song titles pointed to while praying, and ask the Holy Spirit to teach me what I believed He was saying to my heart through the music and scriptures. I took my notebook and pen, got out my bible, and listened to the songs, pausing as necessary.

I chose to focus on the title track, “Jesus is the Author of Our Faith.”

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed

about with so great a cloud of witnesses,

let us lay aside every weight,

and the sin which doth so easily beset us,

and let us run with patience the race

that is set before us,

Looking unto Jesus

the author and finisher of our faith;

who for the joy that was set before Him

endured the cross,

despising the shame, and is set down

at the right hand

of the throne of God.”

Hebrews 12:1-3- KJV

As I listened to the music I saw it in my mind as an organic triangular shape, its long perspective shooting wildly upward into an ever expanding light, which symbolized the high notes dancing on a steep mountain that kept appearing the more I listened to the song.
I noticed a pronounced symmetry in the music as the lower tones kept resounding beneath the steep mountain.

It seemed as if one had been ascending the summit of a great height, only to tumble down the keys into a dark valley where the echoes of the shadowy notes reiterated their voices in another layer of somber tones; it was a great tumble into the shadow path of mysteries indeed after one had heard so distinctly the brighter notes chiming in the airy sunshine as if they would go on in their cheery triumphant echoes forever.

And like a repeating pattern, its symmetry like a cosmic poem was reprised over and over but in a labyrinthine way so that no two phrases or paths were exactly alike. Down the valley and up the mount…only to fall into the shadows again, but one day, the crown we will reach if we don’t give up for joy lies ahead just ’round the bend…

The music reminded me of the scripture;

“And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”

Romans 5:3-5 KJV

For to climb the heights of heaven and taste of its glories and joy and then fall into the depths of despair is indeed a kind of suffering that some of God’s children are appointed to in this world.

However, Christ promises to be with His own no matter where they must go on their journey with Him in this life. For Christ, the Author of our faith, has paved the way for each of us. There is nowhere we can go that Jesus has not gone first. And He will go there again with us through the Holy Spirit He has put in our hearts to abide with us forever as we abide in Him, keeping our hands in His and our eyes on Him, and not focused on this world with all its distractions.

One of the most comforting passages of scripture is Psalm 139:7-12:

Whither shall I go from Thy spirit?

Or whither shall I flee from Thy presence?

If I ascend up into heaven,

Thou art there:

If I make my bed in hell,

behold, Thou art there.

If I take the wings of the morning,

and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Even there shall Thy hand lead me,

and Thy right hand shall hold me.

If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me;

even the night shall be light about me.

Yea, the darkness hideth not from Thee;

but the night shineth as the day:

the darkness and the light are both alike to Thee.

Psalm 139:7-12 – KJV

I couldn’t help but hear those scriptures resonating in this music as I listened to it and was comforted.

For it sent me straight to those passages reminding me of the Author and Finisher of my faith who for the joy set before Him endured His cross, despising the shame, ever looking upward toward the Light ahead of Him by faith.

And if Jesus could endure the horrors of the cross for the joy that was set before Him, then He would help me persevere throughout my journey on this earth no matter what challenges I must face.

For Jesus Christ is a living, risen Savior, and He ever dwells within me by His Spirit who will never leave or forsake me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

This song meditation illustrates the idea of how the Lord wants to speak to us through these songs. I pray that what I’ve written will inspire you to listen to the music for yourself and let the Lord speak through them to you personally, for He surely has a unique word for each soul who takes the time to listen to them, while meditating on His Word, and praying to Him. As I wrote, the songs are His divine conversation starters.
The titles are to lead us into God’s Word, and as we listen to the songs, contemplate His Word, and pray, His Holy Spirit will guide us into the truth of what He wants to teach us.
However, We must approach the Lord by faith.

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 – KJV

We must want to seek Him, want to believe that He will speak to us, and believe that He will speak to each of us, not just to some of us.

It is imperative that Christians read God’s Word for themselves, and not let people tell us what the Bible means.

Jesus said, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,

whom the Father will send in My name,

He shall teach you all things,

and bring all things to your remembrance,

whatsoever I have said unto you.”

John 14:26 KJV

John the Apostle wrote,

“But the anointing which ye have received of Him

abideth in you,

and ye need not that any man teach you:

but as the same anointing

teacheth you of all things,

and is truth, and is no lie,

and even as it hath taught you,

ye shall abide in Him.”

1 John 2:27 – KJV

The Word of God is the most important Book we will ever read for it is God’s revelation of Himself.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, May You speak to our hearts through these songs that are gifts from Your heart as they point to Thy Holy Word when we meditate on Thy Scriptures and listen to Thy Holy Spirit teaching us what Your Word is saying to us, for You have promised to speak to Thy sheep and You keep every promise forever, In Jesus’ name, thank You, we love You, amen.

Overcome Evil With Good

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:21 KJV

Today I feel very sad for all of the families who have lost loved ones in the recent school shootings in Texas.

My prayers go out to all of them and to our nation as well, for such horrible violence affects each of us at the core of our souls, though we may try to desensitize ourselves and pretend it doesn’t affect us because no bullets directly hit our flesh or wounded someone in our family.

But evil and violence affects every soul in our society whether we admit it or not.

And it begins with anger.

Consider Jesus’s words:

“But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.” Matthew 5:22 KJV

Anger breeds hatred.

John the apostle wrote: “But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” 1 John 2:11,3:15 -KJV

Had the eighteen year old murderer in the recent shootings been taught to respect and love his grandmother, to love, glorify, trust, and believe in the God who had created him, and in whose image he and all other humans were formed, he most likely would not have dreamed of committing such an evil crime.

What is hell like?

I imagine it as an abyss where God’s name is blasphemed, reviled and ever taken in vain; a dark maze of interminable suffering, unrelenting pain, hunger, self delusion, fighting, dissatisfaction, greed, anger, hatred, covetousness, envy, vanity, idolatry, narcissism, lust, hypocrisy, addiction, sickness that never ends, cold hearted souls who abuse and condemn and manipulate others, poverty, bigotry, war, egotism, arrogance, shame, riches with no satisfaction, ingratitude, and relationships without love, constant bickering and dissembling and every kind of deceit; souls forever stealing caring nothing for the value of other’s property, hopelessness, despair, frustration because no one is ever happy and they can’t figure out why, and everything and anything that is against God’s will is committed all the time and championed because it is an endless night dominated by malevolent spiritual forces.

Since hell is a territory governed by sin, and God’s Word reveals that the wages of sin is death, then I reckon that it’s a place whirling on a blind path towards its own self destruction.

The Apostle Peter wrote that the earth is just going to erupt into a ball of flames someday.

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men…But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” 2 Peter 3:7,10,12 – KJV

Sin is a corruption of something that will never go the right way and achieve its goal. It is an arrow that constantly misses the mark. And that mark is God’s will.

God’s will is revealed in His Word. When people stop fearing and respecting God; when they stop believing in Him, they stop loving Him.

If I stop fearing the Lord, I will also stop loving and believing in Him. If I lose any one of those three necessary components of love for God, then I lose all three of them.

In other words, I will have no faith, love, nor fear of God.

Faith is more than just believing that God exists.

James 2:19 asserts “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” James 2:19 – KJV

While they might be afraid of God, those devils blaspheme, disobey, and dishonor the Lord through people all the time. They neither love, respect, nor glorify Him.

John the Apostle wrote: “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8 – KJV

The soul who desires to live for God and do His will, and who walks in love obeying Christ, no matter what their outward circumstances might be, has heaven in their heart.

Paul wrote in Colossians 1:13 that the soul who trusts Jesus Christ for salvation and who loves and obeys Christ is delivered by the Heavenly Father from the power of darkness, and “translated into the kingdom of His dear Son.”

Faith not only believes in God’s existence, but it means trusting Him to keep His word, to be faithful, to live up to everything He promises to be and more, no matter what they might have to endure.

I can attest to God’s faithfulness on this score as I live with chronic daily migraines. I know what hell is like and heaven too. Jesus Christ is a RISEN, LIVING Lord and Savior. He does not forsake us in our suffering.

Faith is not ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is not embarrassed to be called a Christian. It does not substitute a cause for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and then delude itself into thinking that God is pleased, because causes do not save souls. Christ’s blood is the only thing that ever saved a soul.

Causes come and go.

If we want to glorify our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who suffered and died on the cross to save us from the power of sin and hell, triumphing over our souls and our own ultimate self destruction, then we have to believe He exists and that He is watching everything we do, and hears every word we say and write, that He cherishes us more than we can ever comprehend and that He really and truly will speak to us if we will listen.

He will guide us and teach us His will and enable us to do it.

He absolutely will forgive all our sins because His blood paid the price for every wrong thing we ever did against Him. If we are sorry for it and turn away from it He forgives us.

We might be ashamed of it but He won’t ever hold it against us. He washes our sins away as far as the east is from the west. The only one who ever brings our sins back up in our face is the devil and his allies.

The Bible refers to the devil as “the accuser of the brethren…” (see Revelations 12:10)

When we accuse, slander, libel, scorn, condemn, etc, we are throwing the ball in the wrong court.

Rather than “sit in the seat of the scornful…” (See Psalm 1:1-2) Christians are to look for the true, good, just, excellent, pure, noble, and praiseworthy things in ourselves and others (see Philippians 4:8)

Christ tells us to abide in Him in our prayer closets and allow His Holy Spirit to guide us as He promises in His Word.

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26 – KJV

May we not allow anger to guide us. Anger does not accomplish Christ’s will. “For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” James 1:20 – KJV

“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.” Psalm 37:8 – KJV

Evil is defined as everything that opposes God’s will no matter how righteous it may appear on the surface.

May we ever give our anger to our Lord Jesus Christ. For He is the righteous Judge.

May we be guided by His love. For to love is Christ’s command —His will. May we ever remember that Love is how we are defined as Christ’s disciples.

*Prayer

Heavenly Father, we mourn and pray for the families who lost loved ones in the Texas school shooting and ask that You comfort every precious family, every heart that has been shattered by this evil.

We pray You will hold them in Thy everlasting arms and fill them with rivers of Thy infinite love, mercy, and grace.

Comfort every fearful heart.

Lord, may we not grow insensitive and cold toward our fellow human as so much evil and iniquity abound in our world.

Help us to conquer evil by doing Thy good will on this hell bound earth that the reality of Thy heaven might live and be displayed in our hearts so all can see Thy light in us and You be glorified in our lives when we do Thy will to love and serve each other.

Help us always to say with Jesus who prayed while being tortured on the cross for our sins, “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing,”

In Jesus’s name, amen.

Encouraging Scriptures

Jesus Christ said, “You have heard that the ancients were told, ‘You shall not murder,’ and ‘Whoever commits murder shall be answerable to the court.’

22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be answerable to the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be answerable to the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.

23 Therefore, if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there you remember that your brother has something against you,

24 leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.” ~ Matthew 5:21-24 -NASB

“…do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity.

All bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and slander must be removed from you, along with all malice.

Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:26-27,31-32 – NASB

“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.” 1 John 4:20-21 -KJV

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20 – KJV

Walking the Path of Faith

Album Notes: Paths of Faith Christian Prayersongs Inspired by the Holy Spirit

It is with a humble, grateful heart that I announce the publication of my 29th musical album to God’s precious children, inspired by His Holy Spirit, who enabled me to create it through the risen Lord Jesus Christ within me, to the glory of our Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ name.

Paths of Faith is an appropriate title for this album of prayersongs, the first vocal album the Lord has inspired me to release since Paths of Mercy in 2019, just before the Coronavirus Pandemic broke out in December of that year.

In 2009 the Lord gave me the gift to sing and create instrumental music. He had to ask me three times if I would sing for Him so reluctant was I to be a musician for His glory.
I had been a visual artist all my life and art was my passion. I had always prayed to be an excellent artist, illustrator, and children’s book writer for His glory. When He asked me to sing for Him, He said that He needed my voice of all things!~I felt I needed to remind Him that my little boy had howled when I’d sung Him “Jesus Loves Me” once.
Undaunted, the Lord would not give up. He wanted me to surrender my will and to walk a new path with Him by faith.
I loved the Lord so much. He had given up everything for me when He suffered and died on the cross to redeem our souls. How could I not now give up everything for Him? Though it felt like dying, I said I would sing and make music for Him. I hardly knew what I was getting myself in for, but trusted that my Lord Jesus Christ would never do anything to hurt me.
At first I felt like I was being thrown to the lions. Having been a professional in one career, now He was plunging me on a path where I would be like a baby learning to crawl, following Him, whom I could only see and hear by faith.
What is faith?
The Bible tells us “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear…
But without faith it is impossible to please (God): for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”
Hebrews 11:1-3,6 – KJV

I knew nothing at all about the music industry but trusted God to guide me every step of the way. He instructed me to do everything the opposite of the way the world does things. Which made no sense. All He would say was, “Trust Me, My child.”
After all, it was His music. I had not up and made myself a musician~ the Lord had. He knew what His plans for it were.
I learned that the Lord wanted to communicate to His children through His music. I should have known that from the beginning. Duh.
The songs were inspired by His word through His Holy Spirit.
They were motivated by prayer and worship from abiding in my Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus had said, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.” John 15:4-5 – KJV

The Lord told me that the songs were to be “Musical Conversations” with His children. If they would take the song titles and go into their prayer closets with their bibles and look up the reference that the title referred to in their bibles and meditate on the verses or bible story and study the word of God and pray to Him and abide in Him alone, that He would speak to them what He wanted to say to them.
The important thing was that His children should get back to their prayer closets and abide in Christ and return to studying His word, allowing HIM to teach them through His Holy Spirit.
The Lord was seeking a personal relationship with His children. He said they were distracted by many things and had lost sight of Him. They had gone after the world. In the Gospel of Matthew Jesus said, “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24 – KJV (Mammon means money or the world or anything that makes the soul’s heart beat faster than Jesus or God~ mammon therefore is another word for an idol.)
Anything that takes the Christian’s attention away from the Lord Jesus Christ can become an idol whether it be a relationship, a hobby, social media, a ministry, an organization, politics, any pursuit whatsoever that seems right but misses the mark ever so slightly. In fact another translation for the word “sin” is to “miss the mark.”
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable
, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2 – KJV

The Path of Faith is one in which we keep our eyes on our Master who is the Author and Perfecter of our Faith, who is the Lord Jesus Christ and we surrender our wills and lay our lives down for Him.

Christians must not keep our eyes on this world. No matter what is going on.
Paul lived under the malevolent emperor Nero of Rome of whom it was believed that he torched the city to justify building a more magnificent one. Because of the intense criticism he received, he devised a plan where he blamed the followers of Christ for the crime. In A.D. 64 brutal persecution erupted there against the Christians.
Tacitus (c. A.D. 60-120) a Roman Historian, wrote in his Annals (XV.44).
“…Besides being put to death they were made to serve as objects of amusement; they were clothed in the hides of beasts and torn to death by dogs; others were crucified, others set on fire to serve to illuminate the night when daylight failed.
Nero had thrown open his grounds for the display, and was putting on a show in the circus, where he mingled with the people in the dress of charioteer or drove about in his chariot. All this gave rise to a feeling of pity, even towards men whose guilt merited the most exemplary punishment; for it was felt that they were being destroyed not for the public good but to gratify the cruelty of an individual.” ~quoted from http://christia
ncourier.com

Despite this horror, what does Paul say when he mentions the government? He wrote: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4 – KJV

Peter wrote, “Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.” 1 Peter 4:16-19 – KJV

Both Peter and Paul mentioned in their epistles that our true Kingdom is not of this world. It would have been truly foolish and dangerous for them to go about writing “our true Emperor and King ~the Only Lord and God Jesus Christ to whom we alone pay honor and allegiance….and we don’t obey any laws but His…” Instead, they wrote as the Holy Spirit led them. They must stay alive and preach the Gospel which was their true mission therefore they must be peacemakers so they could carry out the Lord’s work, keeping Christ’s command to walk in love.
James the Apostles wrote: 17 “But the wisdom that comes from God is like this: “First, it is pure. It is also peaceful, gentle, and easy to please. This wisdom is always ready to help people who have trouble and to do good for others.“ ERV James 3:17

Jesus told Pilate when asked if He was a king, “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if My kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight…” John 18:36
The apostles did not go looking for a fight. Paul wrote, “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” 2 Timothy 2:4 – KJV

Their true commitment was to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom they loved with all their heart, soul and mind and strength. If a worldly law conflicted with God’s Holy Law, of course they must obey God.
For example, in the Old Testament when the Pharaoh commanded all the baby boys to be drowned Moses’s parents did not comply with his edict but obeyed the Lord to save their child.
For the Lord Almighty is our true King and His commandments must prevail and this is what the word of God teaches.
The apostles imply this even when they don’t come right out and say it for the danger it might have presented.
They walked a Path of Faith ~ surely Peter had trod this Path with Christ on the Sea of Galilee when he’d briefly walked on its waters with the Lord before taking his eyes off his Master, then sank beneath the waves. The Lord had quickly rescued his Apostle when Peter cried out, “Lord, save me!”
The Prayersong on my album “Thy Voice Comes Over The Waters” was inspired by this Bible story and it deals with trying to recognize Christ in the gray areas of His word.
Peter wrote, “Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and exiles to abstain from sinful desires that wage war against the soul. (*Sinful desires are any desires opposed to God’s will~not exhibiting the love of Christ is disobeying Christ’s will for Christ said, “I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35 –
CSB)

Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day He visits.
Submit to every human authority because of the Lord, whether to the emperor as the supreme authority or to governors as those sent out by Him to punish those who do what is evil and to praise those who do what is good.
For it is God’s will that you silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good. Submit as free people, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but as God’s slaves. Honor everyone. Love the brothers and sisters. Fear God. Honor the emperor.” 1 Peter 2:11-17 – CSB

Paul wrote: “Let everyone submit to the governing authorities,
since there is no authority except from God,
and the authorities that exist are instituted by God.
So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command,
and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves…” Hebrews 13:1-3

Eventually because the early Christians trusted Christ and walked according to the word of God and the path of faith, they obeyed both Christ and His word to submit to human authority for the sake of the Lord, by the third century under the Emperor Constantine the Great, Christianity became the dominant religion of the Roman Empire.

Christians had but to obey Christ their true King for this to happen.
They had to always be abiding in Christ to know and understand His will. Paul wrote, “Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:17 – KJV

Jesus said, “But when you pray, you should go into your room and close the door. Then pray to your Father. He is there in that private place. He can see what is done in private, and he will reward you.”

Abiding in Christ is getting alone with our risen Lord and Savior by faith and reading His word and allowing the Holy Spirit to teach us apart from the distractions of social media, friends, or work, or anything else.
It is a very private, sacred holy affair between you and the Lord and the only way we can will grow closer to the Lord.
Jesus said, “ I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.”

Christ may lead us down a thorny path.
No one can or should judge any child of God for the Path that Christ leads them to follow. Never judge a child of God by their afflictions.

“Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.” ~James 4:11 – KJV

Who are we to condemn the child whom Christ suffered, bled, and died to redeem? My prayersong “Father, Forgive Me” deals with how our sin hurts others and Christ ultimately.

The Path of Faith may lead to persecution or martyrdom. Paul wrote, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” 2 Timothy 3:12 – KJV
Jesus said, “And whoever doesn’t take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Anyone who finds his life will lose it, and anyone who loses his life because of Me will find it.” Matthew 10:38-39 -CSB

The Path of Faith is the path that leads with Christ to the cross. It is a path of suffering. But if we go to the cross with Christ we will also rise with Him in His resurrection!
For we are being conformed to His image on this journey.
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 – KJV

Along this path we must learn to let go of our own will and say to our Heavenly Father along with Christ, “Father, not My will, but Thy will.”
We must pray, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
But those who will not love as Christ loved us, who will only read Christ’s words and filter out the parts they do not agree with, do not truly love Christ for Christ said,

“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
The one who doesn’t love Me will not keep My words. The word that you hear is not Mine but is from the Father who sent Me.”
John 14:23-24 – CSB

The word parse means to break down, analyze, or scrutinize and is the opposite of accepting by faith as a little child.
One cannot parse a cup of water Christ gives them to drink. We either drink it in front of Him or pour it on the ground and say “No thank You, Lord, I don’t trust it.”

Christ and His Holy Spirit are the Living Water of Life. We receive the Lord by faith. We receive His words by faith. If we fight and rebel and scrutinize, analyze complain, revile and scorn, we don’t love the Lord or keep or believe His word.

Paul wrote that Christ was the Rock in the wilderness, where Moses got the water for the Israelites and they grumbled and grieved God over their unbelief.
“Now I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud, all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ. Nevertheless God was not pleased with most of them, since they were struck down in the wilderness.
1 Corinthians 10:1-5 – CSB

“Today If You Hear God’s Voice” Vocal Prayersong is a song the Lord gave me on my new album to witness to that Bible story.
Listen to the song or to a clip. Then go into your prayer closet with your bible and look up and read the story in the scriptures it refers to.
Pray and ask the Lord to help you hear His voice and to walk His path of faith.

There are many prayersongs on this album that refer to bible stories and concepts. Please use the songs to let God speak to your hearts through His Holy Word, and abide in the Lord Jesus Christ, our True Vine.
He is speaking through His word, through His Holy Spirit in these songs He inspired from His Word.
May He help us turn our attention towards Him and away from all that distracts us in this world.
“Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses
surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us,
keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.
For the joy that lay before Him, He endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, so that you won’t grow weary and give up.
In struggling against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.
Hebrews 12:1-4 – CSB

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for this new album of beautiful prayer songs inspired from Thy word. Thank You for encouraging me to walk Thy path of faith with You even though its been so difficult, for You have been with me all the way and so faithful even as You promised. Please encourage Thy children to walk with You down the path of faith and to trust You in the way You are asking them to and never to doubt that You keep every promise forever. Help each one to hear Thy voice speaking to them in their hearts today and through Thy holy word and may You guide them with Thy wisdom and discernment, and fill them with Thy holy love and mercy and grace, In Jesus’ name, amen. Thank You, Lord, we love You.

More Encouraging Scriptures

Live in harmony with one another.
Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble.
Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Do not repay anyone evil for evil.
Give careful thought to do what is honorable in everyone’s eyes.
If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for God’s wrath,
because it is written, “Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay,” says the Lord.
But If your enemy is hungry, feed him.
If he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.

Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
Romans 12:16-21 – CSB

Let everyone submit to the governing authorities,
since there is no authority except from God,
and the authorities that exist are instituted by God.
So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command,
and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves.

For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad.
Do you want to be unafraid of the one in authority?
Do what is good, and you will have its approval.
For it is God’s servant for your good.
But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason.
For it is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong.
Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath but also because of your conscience.
And for this reason you pay taxes, since the authorities are God’s servants, continually attending to these tasks.
Pay your obligations to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honor to those you owe honor.

Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another,
for the one who loves
another has fulfilled the law.

The commandments, Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal; do not covet; and any other commandment, are summed up by this commandment:
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Love does no wrong to a neighbor.

Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law.
Romans 13:1-10 – CSB

Midnight Prayers & Meditations Volume Two

Album 28 of Music Inspired by the Holy Spirit since 2013

Original Keyboard Instrumental Prayers Featuring the Various Instrumental Voices of Guitar, Strings, & Piano Solos Performed by Suzanne Davis Harden, through the Risen Lord Jesus Christ, Inspired by the Holy Spirit, to the glory of God the Father, In Jesus’ name, amen.

Midnight Prayers and Meditations, Volume 2, is the second chapter of the album of original keyboard instrumentals inspired by the Holy Spirit. I published the first volume of Midnight Prayers & Meditations last Autumn in the twilight of 2020, forever to be remembered as the year of the Pandemic.

I had several of the songs on this second volume ready to publish even back then, but the Lord had me wait to publish the current album for various reasons.
God’s word says, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…” ~Ecclesiastes 3:1 –
KJV

The Lord has blessed me with much music for His glory through the risen Lord Jesus Christ in me. But He only directs me to publish what He wishes according to His plans and purposes.
It is as if the Lord uses each song or composition to teach me that not everything is chosen for the spotlight right now, and yet everything is loved and special at all times.

All of the music He has blessed me with was created for His glory and glorifies Him in its own way whether it gets published a month from now, in six months or ten years, or whether it never gets published at all.
I truly believe that all of His music serves a divine purpose and brings Him glory in the way He has chosen in its own time.

If we could only understand that each one of us are like the musical compositions He inspires. We all exist because the Lord wanted to create us; He loves us all very much.

“Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him would not be lost but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world. He did not send Him to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through Him.” ~John 3:16-17 – ERV

God is infinite and His love and mercy toward us are measureless.

His thoughts are far beyond our thoughts and He does not think as we think.
We can’t wrap our minds around an infinite Being.

“The teaching about the cross seems foolish to those who are lost. But to us who are being saved it is the power of God. As the Scriptures say, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. I will confuse the understanding of the intelligent.”
1 Corinthians 1:18-19 – ERV

God is as far above us as the universe is wide.
If we try to define Him by putting Him in a neat box of rationalizations we fail.
He is not a black and white formula.
He does not make sense at all to our rational minds.
He will blow us away when we truly come to know Him.

“So what does this say about the philosopher, the law expert, or anyone in this world who is skilled in making clever arguments?
God has made the wisdom of the world look foolish.
This is what God in His wisdom decided: Since the world did not find Him through its own wisdom, He used the message that sounds foolish to save those who believe it.”
1 Corinthians 1:20-21 – ERV

We will go insane trying to define Him in any traditional sense. He won’t be standardized, denominationalized, fit into neat theologies, philosophies, and so forth; for the minute we try we fall flat on our faces and He has to pick us up; dust us off and say, “Read My Word again.”

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 – KJV

We might not like or agree with His word in all its completeness.
And we might be tempted to pick and choose what we want to believe out of it.
But have we never considered listening to Jesus Christ?

Jesus teaches us how to read His word.
He spoke in parables.
He spoke in metaphor and pictures.

His word is spiritual.
Many of His disciples left Him when He spoke to them spiritually.

Jesus said, “My words are spirit and they are life. The flesh profits
nothing.” (John 6:6:63)

If we approach Christ and His word with a literal mind we are not going to know Him or understand His word.

We must walk by faith and not by sight. (*See 2 Corinthians 5:7)

We must trust and believe that He is real:

“Faith is what makes real the things we hope for.
It is proof of what we cannot see.
God was pleased with the people who lived a long time ago because they had faith like this.
Faith helps us understand that God created the whole world by His command.
This means that the things we see were made by something that cannot be seen.
Without faith no one can please God.
Whoever comes to God must believe that He is real and that He rewards those who sincerely try to find Him.”
Hebrews 11:1-3,6 – ERV (Easy To Read Version B
ible)

I sing by faith.
I play the keyboard by faith. I have no real background in music.
Really.
All of my background and training are in the visual arts.

I did not grow up with any musical gift or any idea of becoming a musician.
My whole passion and goal was to become a visual artist.
Art was the love of my life. Music merely existed to stimulate my artistic creativity. In other words, I listened to it while I created my art.

God sovereignly gave me a gift of music in 2009 and I accepted it by faith.
Since then I have played the piano nearly every day; songs the Lord gives me by faith.
My songs are more like prayers ascending to Heaven.
I pray and it is the risen Lord Jesus Christ within me by His Holy Spirit who inspires the music and who plays through me.

It is the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ within me who creates all the music.
I know that sounds strange.
But Jesus Christ is a risen, living Savior.
He is alive within me!

This is what Christianity teaches.
Jesus said, “On that day you will know that I am in the Father. You will know that you are in Me and I am in you. Those who really love Me are the ones who not only know My commands but also obey them. My Father will love such people, and I will love them. I will make Myself known to them.” ~John 14:20-21 – ERV (Easy To Read Version Bible)

If someone who calls themself a Christian says this is not true then they are denying the Lord Jesus Christ.
For Jesus Christ said He is a living, risen Savior.
He said that He has risen from the dead, that He lives inside those who accept Him as their Savior and Lord, that He seals them with His Holy Spirit, that He does give His children gifts with which to glorify Him on this earth, and that no one can dictate to Him what kind of gifts He is allowed to give His children.
The Lord is a God of miracles and He is in the Heavens, the Bible declares, and He does whatever He pleases.

“Our God is in heaven, and He does whatever He wants.”
Psalm 115:3 – ERV (Easy To Read Version Bible)

God did what He wanted when He gave me the gift of music.
I praise Him for this beautiful gift and will use it to glorify Him for as long as He enables me to by His almighty grace and power.

For it is through Christ alone that I can create any music or do any of the creative things He blesses me with.

I will publicly proclaim that it is the risen Lord Jesus Christ in me doing these works because when Christ walked the earth He said it was His Father in Him who did the miracles that He accomplished and not Himself.

“Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He seeth the Father do: for what things soever He doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” ~ John 5:19 – KJV (King James Version Bible)

The Bible asserts that we are to live as Christ lived who always glorified His Heavenly Father.

I want to always glorify my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as far as He enables me to.

“He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.” 1 John 2:6 – KJV

Surely I fail miserably at walking as Jesus walked because I’m not perfect like Jesus was. But I know that following Christ is a little like driving.

If I point my car at some target and drive toward it, then I’m more likely to get to my object than if I don’t aim at any goal at all.

So every day I try to aim my whole heart at the Lord Jesus Christ. Sometimes I have fender benders, sometimes I run off the road into the ditch when I take my eyes off my Lord, sometimes another “car” runs into me and hurts me terribly; then I have to forgive them.
So many things can happen on this journey with Christ.
But God’s word has good directions to follow to help me.
And Christ’s love sustains me.
Jesus has paid the price for all my sins on His cross.

When I confess them to Him and tell Him I’m sorry for grieving Him, He forgives me, dusts me off and sets me right again on my journey with Him.
God is love. (1 John 4:8)
He loves me more than I will ever begin to comprehend.

If I meditate on Christ’s suffering on the cross maybe I can understand a little about God’s love.
His agony and death on the cross make me weep.
For I learn that God loved me so much that He would allow Himself to be tortured to pay the price for my sins to be forgiven so that I could be His child and be given eternal life and fellowship with Him.

Not only that, but so that He could put a portion of His Holy Spirit inside of me and bring glory to His name throughout Heaven and earth through my weak vessel to demonstrate His reality.

God is real.
Christ is real. He lives inside of me and has made all of the music I’ve published through me.
Twenty eight albums inspired by the Holy Spirit now since 2013.

But more importantly, Christ wants a living, vital relationship with people.

Jesus Christ wants all to believe in His reality in the 21st century: that He is a living, resurrected Savior, not someone who only lived two thousand years ago only to be studied and quoted by an elite few.

If He can use a weak vessel who suffers from daily migraines,
ME Chronic Fatigue syndrome, and painful fibromyalgia to accomplish His purposes on this earth, then I know that He can use anyone who will simply believe and walk by faith to glorify Him.

The Lord Jesus Christ wants to live and shine through all who will invite Him into their hearts and who love and obey Him~ “For there is no respect of persons with God.” Romans 2:11 – KJV

May those who hear my music understand this message and be encouraged to believe that Christ cherishes them and desires an abiding, eternal friendship with them.

Jesus said, “He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him.
… If a man love Me, he will keep My words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him.” ~John 14:21,23 – KJV

May our merciful loving God be forever honored, loved, and praised. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The Rabbit Writer

I drew this whimsical rabbit writer several years ago when I was doing a lot of pen & ink work before I came down with the virus that caused my auto immune illness.
In those days I drew and painted or wrote incessantly; from the time I woke up until I went to bed at night.
Like the rabbit character in the illustration I was always thinking of something to draw, write, or create.
I was certain that the Lord had put me on the earth to make things.

That is until I got sick with a mysterious debilitating virus and could neither write or draw, or even walk or do anything for almost four months but sit in a darkened room.
I experienced excruciating migraines.

I prayed fervently and listened to the Lord. He spoke to my heart. He told me that I had value apart from my gifts.

The Lord said that if I never drew or painted or wrote another thing, but just sat in my chair in the dark and prayed to Him I was still glorifying Him by living for Him.

For to live for Him as He chose for me to, even if I had no gift or talent to display, was to glorify Him, as long as I was doing His will, and not my own will.

He told me that I thought I had no value apart from my gifts and He needed to assure me that my value did not rest in what I could or could not do, in my gifts or talents, in my occupation, in my role as a mother or wife, in what I did for any church, in where I lived, or what kind of car I drove, or my economic status, and so forth.

My value as a human being came from Him, for I was His creation made in His holy image.
I needed to understand that.
Nothing I did or did not do could or would change His love for me.

Christ had redeemed me apart from my merits, I did nothing to earn His salvation, His grace, His forgiveness.
God loved me for me.

The Lord spoke these things to me every day.
And all I could do was listen.
It was very hard to go from someone who had walked six miles a day and created all the time, to someone who could do nothing.

As much as most might tend to avoid such verses, I clung to scriptures like those penned by the prophet Jeremiah below:

“The Lord is my portion, saith my soul;
therefore will I hope in him.
The Lord is good unto them
that wait for Him,
to the soul that seeketh Him.

It is good that a man should both hope
and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
He sitteth alone and keepeth silence,
because He hath borne it upon him.
He putteth his mouth in the dust;
if so be there may be hope.

He giveth his cheek to Him that smiteth him:
he is filled full with reproach.
For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
But though He cause grief,
yet will He have compassion
according to the multitude of His mercies.

For He doth not afflict willingly
nor grieve the children of men.
Lamentations 3:24-26,28-33 – KJV

We take for granted that if we have many talents then it is the Lord’s will that we use all that energy like mad and think we are doing it for His glory.

In my case the parable of the talents haunted me.
I didn’t want to get to Heaven and have Christ say to me that I had hidden the talents He had invested in me.

I’d had that parable drummed into me since I was a child.
But when I got sick I discovered He wanted me to sit at His feet and worship Him and love Him and listen to Him and get to know Him.

He wanted to be my God, not art and writing and creating things.
For all those things I was making were going to burn up some day, but only those things I did that were truly His will would abide forever.

(“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:17 – KJV )

For the things that are God’s will bear eternal fruit. But the things that I manufacture from my own plans, purposes, and goals are born out of my own worldly desires.

Jesus said, “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24 – KJV

When the Lord finally restored me, He never gave me back the health I had enjoyed before I got that simple virus that changed the whole course of my life back in 2007.

He promised me back then that He was going to heal me, but that my healing was going to be a journey.

It was like I had fallen from the top of a great mountain and now the Lord was going to walk with me every day as we climbed together back up.

But this time I would go with Him, I would be getting to know Him, and holding His hand every day, and learning His voice and doing His will and not my own.

He had to knock that false god out of my heart that I had not known I had. For indeed I had believed I was worshiping Him and doing His will.

But through my illness He showed me that the light within me was very dark.

God is indeed merciful. We can be completely blind to our idols.

How I thank Him now that He came along and set me straight. As the Psalmist wrote: “Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.” ~Psalm 119:67 – KJV

Emancipation Day

Juneteenth is a holiday observed on June 19th that celebrates the emancipation of the former slaves in the United States.

“Emancipation Day” is truly a holiday in our country that everyone should honor and consider thoughtfully and with great thanksgiving to God.

For His word says  “…The Lord frees prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord raises up those who are oppressed…” ~ Psalm 146:7- CSB

Was it not the Lord Almighty who heard the many prayers of these enslaved oppressed souls and answered them in His own way and time as He answers all prayer?

To everything a season… Ecclesiastes 3:1

Was it not He who controls the destinies of all nations who opened the eyes of the leaders to see their blindness and hypocrisy in harboring slavery in a land founded on freedom and Christian morality?

The Lord is the One who sets the prisoners free ultimately.

I believe that the enslaved peoples of our nation, based on their great spirituals and hymns, would agree that it was the Lord God who had heard their fervent cries for freedom and brought about their ultimate deliverance.

For they were truly a longsuffering people of great faith.

Their patience teaches us to trust the Lord and believe and hope no matter how discouraging things look, or impossible or hopeless the situation seems.

They inspire us to never give up believing.

Most of these persevering people kept singing, praising, and working for the unseen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom they truly belonged, who had made them His own redeemed children through His death on the cross despite their hardship in the physical world.

His Kingdom was not of this world and they served Himwho was every and all colors, for He was the Great Creator who had made them.
And His was the color of love.

The Lord had no favorites.
They could see this even if those who had enslaved them were blind~though they too claimed to serve Christ.

The Bible says, “For there is no respect of persons with God.” (Romans 2:11 – KJV)
In Him there was no white nor black, male nor female, slave nor free.

All were one in Christ. (*See Galatians 3:28)

In Christ all were made free, for where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. (2 Corinthians 3:17)

He had made them free in the spiritual realm and one day they knew in their hearts that He would make them free in the material world.

What eyes could not see, their hearts could.

These courageous souls walked by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

When their freedom in this world finally came, these former slaves knew that their prayers had been answered and they gave praise and thanks to the Lord their Deliverer.

“For the Lord hears the needy
And does not despise His who are prisoners.” ~ Psalm 69:33 – AMP

Though this holiday has not widely been observed or celebrated in our nation, many of the children of the former slaves have kept up with the tradition of remembrance since the first Emancipation Day.

For It truly is a Day of Thanksgiving and praise, to gather and celebrate freedom and to honor God and praise Him for the deliverance He brought about for those who were so long enslaved in this land.

He sets the captives free and those who were first delivered from their bondage knew who to praise for their liberty.

They loved the Lord with all their heart and their songs and spirituals remain as a testimony forever to eternity of their faith in Him.

“…The Lord loves the righteous…” Psalm 146:8 CSB

Valuing The Human

An innocent little six year old was mercilessly gunned down by someone in a fit of road rage recently.

I wondered how was this possible?

The Lord led me to the story of Cain and Abel in the book of Genesis.

Cain and Abel were two brothers, the children of Eve, “the mother of all the living.”

When her first son was born, Eve called him “Cain,” a name related to a word for “lament” or “wail.” Eve said, “I have gotten a man from the Lord…”

“…man” meaning:

אישׁ ‘ı̂ysh

BDB Definition: 11b) husband, 1c) human being, person (in contrast to God), 1f) champion, 1g) great man

The Bible says of Cain that he “…was a tiller of the ground.”

The word for tiller means: H5647 (Strong)

עָבַד

‛âbad, aw-bad’, A primitive root; to work (in any sense); by implication to serve, till, (causatively) enslave, etc.: be, keep in bondage, be bondmen, bond-service, compel, husbandman, keep, labour (-ing man), (be, become) servant (-s), transgress [from margin], (set a) work, be wrought, worshipper.Serve self

Where Eve seemed so filled with hope after Cain’s birth giving him a name that meant “Champion,” she seemed to have lost her faith sometime after his birth.

For she named her second son Abel which means:

הבל hâbal

BDB Definition: 1) to act emptily, become vain, be vain; 1a2) to be utterly vain;1b1) to cause to become vain; 1b2) to fill with vain hopes;

People who have lost their dream call faith “vain hope.”

Also, branding a child with such a name is akin to calling them hopeless, futile, or vanity.

It would not be any wonder then that Abel would find refuge out in the fields with his Father God while tending the sheep rather than with a family who considered him “… filled with vain hopes.”

Abel was given the name of someone whom his parents saw as having no expectations.

And this was surely to open the door for his brother to also adopt the same attitudes toward him as someone who was worthless.

It might not be difficult for a man to murder a brother whom he neither loved nor valued. For Cain had no love for his brother the Bible says.

“This is the teaching you have heard from the beginning: We must love each other. Don’t be like Cain. He belonged to the Evil One. Cain killed his brother. But why did he kill him? Because what Cain did was evil, and what his brother did was good.” 1 John 3:11-12 – ERV

Cain and Abel both offered sacrifices to God. But Abel offered a better sacrifice to God because he had faith. God said he was pleased with what Abel offered. And so God called him a good man because he had faith. Abel died, but through his faith he is still speaking.” ~ Hebrews 11:4 – ERV

After Cain had killed his brother, the Lord asked him where Abel was. Cain sarcastically replied, “I don’t know, am I my brother’s keeper?”

Keeper means:

שׁמר shâmar

BDB Definition: 1) to keep, guard, observe, give heed/ 2) 1a1) to keep, have charge of/ 3) 1a2) to keep, guard, keep watch and ward, protect, save life/ 1a3) to watch for, wait for/ 1a4) to watch, observe/ 1a5) to keep, retain, treasure up (in memory)/1a6) to keep (within bounds), restrain/ 1a7) to observe, celebrate, keep (sabbath or covenant or commands), perform (vow)/ 1a8) to keep, preserve, protect/ 1b1) to be on one’s guard, take heed, take care, beware/ 1b2) to keep oneself, refrain,/ abstain/ 1b3) to be kept, be guarded

God revealed through the Lord Jesus Christ that we are indeed to be our brother’s keeper. We are to love and to lay our lives down for one another.

Abel was asked to sacrifice His will to God even as Christ would one day be asked to sacrifice His will to the Father that all might in Him be given eternal life through His sacrificial death.

Abel gave God what He asked of him. This pleased the Lord greatly.

For Abel like Christ in effect had said, “Father I want Thy will not my will…”

How did Abel know what God’s will was?

He spent all his time with the Lord every day in a close relationship with Him.

While working in the fields he was abiding in His Maker. He listened to God speak to his heart.

God wanted something that was difficult for Abel to give Him. Something that Abel loved, prized, and valued very much. The finest of his flocks.

Yet, what else was worth having if he kept it back from God and lost his intimacy with the Lord by withholding that thing which God had asked him to sacrifice?

What could be more important than his relationship with the Lord, his Creator?

Abel knew what God required of him, he knew and cared to do God’s will.

The Bible says that the ungodly don’t care to know about or to do God’s will. They just want to please themselves.

‘“At harvest time, Cain brought a gift to the Lord. He brought some of the food that he grew from the ground, but Abel brought some animals from his flock. He chose some of his best sheep and brought the best parts from them. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift. But He did not accept Cain and his offering. Cain was sad because of this and he became very angry.” ~ Genesis 4:3-5 ERV

Cain offered to God the sacrifice of man; the sacrifice that insists on doing its own will and pleasure. Such a sacrifice may take a lot of time and effort to accomplish, and appear beautiful but it will not satisfy our Creator if it is not what He asked for.

God’s will is that we obey Him no matter what that obedience looks like, no matter how displeasing to us it seems. The Lord needs to know that His will matters to us more than our own our own will.

He created us to worship HIM. We were not created to please and worship ourselves.

Abel obeyed the Lord and offered the blood sacrifice He required. Cain did not.

Hebrews 9 explains that under the Law that without the shedding of blood there was no forgiveness of sins. A blood sacrifice was required for the atonement of the sins people had committed. That was just how it was. We may not like it or understand it. But that was why Jesus Christ, God’s Son had to die to shed His spotless blood for the sins of all humanity to redeem us and put a fallen world back in right relationship with God. This is the truth. Cain refused to believe this truth of the need for the blood sacrifice to atone for his sins to be made right with God. He would do his own work and labor to please and satisfy God. Yet, God only wanted the sacrifice of an innocent pure lamb to atone for the man’s sins. He need only go to his brother and procure a sheep to sacrifice to the Lord. It was that easy. Cain made things hard in his unbelief.

Cain was furious when he saw that God was pleased with Abel’s sacrifice and not with his own.

The Lord asked Cain, “Why are you angry? Why does your face look sad? You know that if you do what is right, I will accept you. But if you don’t, sin is ready to attack you. That sin will want to control you, but you must control it.”~ Genesis 4:6-7 – ERV

God up and told Cain His will and the man simply ignored the holy revelation! It went right over Cain’s head because he had no regard for the Lord any more than he valued his brother’s life.

If he had loved and feared the Lord then he would have obeyed Him. Christ equated love for our Lord with our obedience to Him.

Jesus said to His disciples: “If you love Me, you will do what I command.

Those who really love Me are the ones who not only know My commands but also obey them. My Father will love such people, and I will love them. I will make Myself known to them.”

…All who love Me will obey My teaching. My Father will love them. My Father and I will come to them and live with them.

But anyone who does not love Me does not obey My teaching. This teaching that you hear is not really Mine. It is from my Father who sent Me.” ~ John 14:15,21,23-24 – ERV

The rest of the story is a very sad one.

Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” So they went to the field. Then Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. Later, the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”

Cain answered, “I don’t know. Is it my job to watch over my brother?”

Then the Lord said, “What have you done? You killed your brother and the ground opened up to take his blood from your hands. Now his blood is shouting to Me from the ground. So you will be cursed from this ground. Now when you work the soil, the ground will not help your plants grow. You will not have a home in this land. You will wander from place to place.”~Genesis 4:8-10,12 – ERV

The price Cain paid for his sin was enormous. Cain’s former gift of being able to till the soil successfully became a curse as God said, “Now when you work the soil, the ground will not help your plants grow.

Whereas Cain had been the family’s hope for success and prosperity, “their champion,” he now became the disappointment, the one who was truly filled with “vain hopes;”one who could no longer produce. The Lord not only took away all former expectations of success, but also drove him away, branding him with the indelible mark of a murderer, condemning him to the life of a wanderer. (*See Genesis 4:13-16)

Have we ever stopped to think of what we give up when we ignore the Lord’s voice, giving in to our stubbornness, anger, own desires, and lack of faith over simply obeying the Lord’s will?

First we must like Abel abide in Christ to love God and to know His will.

Second we must care to obey His will once He reveals that will to us.

If we don’t love others, we won’t love, honor and value our God. When we do not love and value others we disobey God’s will.

Christ said, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:34-35 – KJV

Jesus once told a religious ruler that the two greatest commandments upon which hung the whole Law were the first two: Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” ~ Matthew 22:37-40 – KJV

The Apostle John wrote, “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from Him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.” 1 John 4:20-21 – KJV

In the parable of the Good Samaritan Jesus let us know that in God’s eyes, everyone is our brother and sister. Not just people in our religious affiliations, our fellowships and social cliques. The Lord does not see as we see according to the teaching Christ gave us in that parable.

As I contemplated the enraged man who’d gunned down the innocent child on the freeway, I couldn’t help but wonder if he, like Cain, had lost his love and value for human life made in God’s holy image ~that life of which God says we are to be his keeper, his guardian, and to keep ourselves from harming.

Would that people knew God’s will and would do it!

Then I thought are we not too like that furious man when we explode like a seething time bomb with bitter words; words like lethal verbal weapons, over everything under the sun, ever finding fault, seeking to destroy with bitter criticism, accusation, and judgment, ever so quick to assume false conclusions without having all the facts? The internet and social media are daily inundated with these incidents of “virtual road rage.”

And if we regard not the life of our neighbor, resisting God’s will to be our brother’s and sister’s keeper, we absolutely do not love, fear, nor honor God our Heavenly Father, the Bible declares. (*See 1 John 4:20-21)

Jesus said, “…the bad things people say with their mouth come from the way they think. And that’s what can make people wrong. All these bad things begin in the mind: evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual sins, stealing, lying, and insulting people. These are the things that make people wrong.” Matthew 15:18-20 – ERV

“Heavenly Father, may You give us Thy divine love for one another, that we may also love and honor Thee, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Nevertheless, Said Jesus

Prayer Poem~Nevertheless, Said Jesus

Encouraging Scriptures

Jesus Christ said, “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be…

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” Matthew 24:37-44 KJV

The Days Of Noah ~Genesis 6:5-12

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man

was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart.

And the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, And Noah walked with God.

And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.” Genesis 6:5-12 KJV

_________________________

Jesus Christ said, “Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8 KJV

Enoch was carried away from this earth, so he never died.

The Scriptures tell us that before he was carried off, he was a man who pleased God.

Later, no one knew where he was, because God had taken Enoch to be with Him.

This all happened because he had faith. Without faith no one can please God.

Whoever comes to God must believe that He is real and that He rewards those who sincerely try to find Him.

Noah was warned by God about things that he could not yet see. But he had faith and respect for God, so he built a large boat to save his family.

With his faith, Noah showed that the world was wrong. And he became one of those who are made right with God through faith.”

Hebrews 11:5-7 ERV

MORE ENCOURAGING SCRIPTURES

For yet in a very little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. But My righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him. But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and are saved.” Hebrews 10:37-39 CSB

Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.

For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions.

These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave.

But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.” 1 John 2:15-17 NLT

Jesus Christ said, “And when he had called the people unto Him with his disciples also, He said unto them, “Whosoever will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for My sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” ~ Mark 8:34-38 KJV

Paul the Apostle wrote, “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.” Romans 10:11 KJV

Some Bibles translate this verse as they shall not be put to shame. But the sense of the original word is that the author meant the person who puts their trust in Jesus would not be ashamed, embarrassed to believe in Him, or confounded and sorry that they trusted in the Lord. It can be read both ways.

Just as Jesus said, His disciples would not be ashamed of Him or His words because they would know that would make their Master ashamed of them.

If a soul really has faith that Jesus was raised from the dead and lives inside of them they will not be ashamed to confess this Paul said in Romans 10.

“…that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” Romans 10:9-11 KJV

It is when we stop confessing our faith that we not only lose it, but we also lose our love for Christ and our fear of God.

We are in danger of becoming mere professors crying “Lord Lord,” doing many good works perhaps but maybe none of them God’s will, not one truly motivated by His Holy Spirit but by man. (See Matthew 7:21-23)

We will have no true love for the Lord nor belief in Him, for we will love and lust after the world more than we love and worship the One who died to save us from our sins.

It is then that we should meditate on Psalm 36:1-4 and pray earnestly in our prayer closets and seek The Lord with all our heart with fear and trembling. (See Isaiah 55:6-8)

That is why Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 13: “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.” 2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV

For Meditation and Reflection:

Do we care more about what other people think of us than what the Lord might think of us?

Who’s opinion of us matters to us the most?

This tells us a whole lot about how much faith we really have in the living Lord Jesus Christ.

If we truly believed He is real we would tremble to care more what other people thought than what the God who upholds the universe by the word of His power thinks about us.

If we really believed that the Father and Christ have the power to not only destroy the body but cast our spirit and soul in hell for eternity, then would we not fear and respect and honor them?

Jesus said, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” ~ Matthew 10:28 KJV

Grace can be trampled on and Christ recrucified according to the book of Hebrews in chapter 6.

“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame.” Hebrews 6:4-6 KJV

2 Peter 2 alludes to the Christian who loses his salvation comparing them to a dog who returns to its vomit.

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.” ~ 2 Peter 2:20-22 KJV

Hebrews 10 talks about those who lose their blood sacrifice Christ made for them by negating it.

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

For we know Him that hath said, “Vengeance belongeth unto Me, I will recompense,” saith the Lord.

And again, “The Lord shall judge His people.”

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”Hebrews 10:26-31 KJV

I did not make these scriptures up.

There are bible teachers who reinterpret them to fit their denominational systems.

However, the apostles repeatedly said to hold on to what you have been taught from the beginning.

And these are the teachings that have been handed down from the beginning.

Jesus said that he who endures to the end shall be saved.

He said that the way of life is narrow and that few there be that find it. But broad is the way that leads to destruction and many there be that would go in that way.

Salvation is not a done deal once a soul commits their heart to Christ.

Just ask Judas.

Jesus said to the disciples at the last supper “One of you is about to betray Me. It would be better for that soul if he had not been born.” Then the disciples each asked if he were the one.

Even Judas dared to ask since all the others were asking. If we come to Jesus wanting a revelation He will give us the answer. Jesus told Judas it was him. But it did not stop him from committing his sin. Even though Jesus had plainly stated that it would have been better for that soul if he would not have been born rather than to betray Him. Unbelief is at the core of every sin against Christ.

Judas went out and committed his fatal sin against the Lord anyway. He betrayed the Lord for thirty pieces of silver. (See Matthew 26:14-16; 20-25,)

One cannot worship idols and God too. Jesus pointed this out in Matthew 6.

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” (*Mammon can be anything including money that we love more than God) Matthew 6:24 KJV

One either loves Christ or the god of this world. Christ knows every heart. The Lord wants each heart that professes to love Him to seek Him in their prayer closet, apart from social media.

That along with anything else that distracts our mind away from the Lord, is not holy.

He wants us to set ourselves apart unto Him.

Holy means set apart.

Christ will tolerate no idols.

Please don’t take my word for it. Go in to your prayer closet and pray and seek Christ without distractions.

Meditate on the Word of God without the constant interruption and intrusion of the internet or social media, work, hobbies, or anything that takes your mind or interest away from the Lord.

Jesus said, ““My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.” ~ John 10:27-28 KJV

Those who really want to come back to Christ will listen and hear Him speaking in this message to them.

They will recognize the voice of their Good Shepherd. For they belong to Jesus and are His true sheep. Jesus said the voice of a stranger they would not follow.

But Jesus said that those who do not believe and who have no faith, do not belong to Him. Those who are His want above all else to please Christ and do His will.

Jesus told the Pharisees who kept questioning Him despite all of the amazing miracles they saw that witnessed to His deity:

“…I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of My sheep, as I said unto you.” John 10:25-26 KJV

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”~ 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 KJV

“Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, “To day if ye will hear His voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, In the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, And saw My works forty years.

“Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; And they have not known My ways. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) “

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

While it is said, “To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

But with whom was He grieved forty years? Was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

And to whom sware He that they should not enter into His rest, but to them that believed not?

So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:7-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

For God So Loved The World

An Easter Greeting
For God So Loved The World

For God so loved the world
A world condemned and lost
That He gave His only Son
To die upon a cross;
His one and only spotless Son
Who had no sin in Him,
Who bore the sins of every soul
And was condemned for them;
He suffered sickness, grief, and shame,
Wretchedness, unending pain,
Betrayal, persecution, death,
The curse of hell in the end…
He took upon Himself the curse
God’s righteous Law said we deserved
Because all souls from Adam’s race
Are born in sin and must be saved.
Adam is a word that stands
For each and every soul of man
Women, children it includes,
~Adam sinned for me and you.
Though we were never born as yet
His sin affected all his race.

When Jesus died upon the cross
He bore the sins of all the lost,
That all who might believe in Him
By faith be made righteous within.
Adam disobeyed God’s Law
And all in Him became sinners…
Jesus Christ obeyed God’s will
To take upon Himself man’s sin…
And all who will believe in Christ
Who in His cross choose to abide
Have their sins by Him removed
In Christ by faith they are made pure
For Christ, their Adam, God obeyed
And by His act many souls saved
Through faith in Him and by God’s grace.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

ENCOURAGING SCRIPTURES FOR MEDITATION

God gave Jesus as a way to forgive people’s sins
through their faith in Him.
God can forgive them
because the blood sacrifice of Jesus
pays for their sins
.

God gave Jesus to show that
He always does what is right and fair.
He was right in the past
when He was patient
and did not punish people for their sins.

And in our own time He still does what is right.
God worked all this out in a way
that allows Him to judge people fairly
and still make right any person
who has faith in Jesus.

God makes people right
through their faith in Jesus Christ.

He does this for all
who believe in Christ.
Everyone is the same.

All have sinned
and are not good enough
to share God’s divine greatness.
They are made right
with God by His grace.
This is a free gift.

They are made right with God
by being made free from sin
through Jesus Christ.”
Romans 3:22-26 ERV
(Easy to Read Version)

“When Adam sinned,
sin entered the world.

Adam’s sin brought death,
so death spread to everyone,
for everyone sinned.

Yes, people sinned
even before the law was given.
But it was not counted as sin
because there was not yet
any law to break.

Still, everyone died—
from the time of Adam
to the time of Moses—
even those who did not disobey
an explicit commandment of God,
as Adam did.

Now Adam is a symbol,
a representation of Christ,
who was yet to come.

But there is a great difference
between Adam’s sin
and God’s gracious gift
.

For the sin of this one man, Adam,
brought death to many.

But even greater
is God’s wonderful grace
and his gift of forgiveness to many
through this other man, Jesus Christ.

And the result of God’s gracious gift
is very different from the result
of that one man’s sin.

For Adam’s sin
led to condemnation,
but God’s free gift leads to our
being made right with God,
even though we are
guilty of many sins.

For the sin of
this one man, Adam,
caused death to rule
over many.

But even greater
is God’s wonderful grace
and his gift of righteousness,
for all who receive it
will live in triumph
over sin and death
through this one man,
Jesus Christ.

Yes, Adam’s one sin
brings condemnation for everyone,
but Christ’s one act of righteousness
brings a right relationship with God
and new life for everyone.

Because one person disobeyed God,
many became sinners.

But because one other person
obeyed God,
many will be made righteous.

God’s law was given so that all people
could see how sinful they were.
But as people sinned more and more,
God’s wonderful grace
became more abundant.

So just as sin ruled over all people
and brought them to death,
now God’s wonderful grace
rules instead,
giving us right standing
with God and resulting in eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

A Closing Prayer For The Old Year

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” ~ Colossians 3:15, 17 KJV

May Our Heavenly Father bless you all with a beautiful New Year in 2021! May He keep you and your precious families all healthy, safe, and close to His heart, and fill you with His peace and grace, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Love always and forever on Christ, Suzanne, Mark, and JJ ❤️

Love

“And this commandment have we from Him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.” ~ 1 John 4:21 KJV

Love each other,” Jesus said,
“By this they all shall know,
That You are Mine, and in thy heart
I have made My home.”

Love each other,” Jesus said,
“This is My command,
You show the world you love Me
When you do the things I ask.”

Jesus said who loves Him
Will obey His word
The one who doesn’t love Him
Dishonors their neighbor…

For there are two commandments
The greatest one of all
Is to love with all thy heart
And soul the Most High God,
The second one He said,
Is love thy neighbor too,
As you love thy very self
To them so you must do.

Whatsoever you shall do
Unto the least of these,”
Said Jesus in a parable,
“Ye do it unto Me.”

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Scriptures For Meditation

A religious leader asked Jesus, “Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.’
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it,
‘Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.’
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Matthew 22:36-40 KJV

“And the King shall answer and say unto them,
“Verily I say unto you,
“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
Matthew 25:40 KJV

“He that hath My commandments,
and keepeth them,
he it is that loveth Me:
and he that loveth Me
shall be loved of My Father,
and I will love him,
and will manifest Myself to him.

Jesus answered and said unto him,
“If a man love Me, he will keep My words:
and My Father will love him,
and We will come unto him,
and make Our abode with him.

He that loveth Me not
keepeth not My sayings:
and the word which ye hear is not Mine,
but the Father’s which sent Me.”
John 14:21, 23-24 KJV

Jesus said, “This is My commandment,
That ye love one another,
as I have loved you.
Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Ye are My friends,
if ye do whatsoever I command you.”
John 15:12-14 KJV

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…” Proverbs 3:5

Scripture Painting Video © SD Harden

A few weeks ago I had a dream. In it the Lord Jesus Christ was on His throne.

He held the earth in His hands. He was enormous, while the world was so little it fit safely into His palm.

He had a firm grip on the planet as He smiled at me and said, “I’m in control. No matter how chaotic things appear trust Me.”

I woke up and He helped me to paint that image, only not nearly so beautiful and powerful as it appeared in my dream.

Since I draw and paint with digital media on my IPad I like to record my painting journey and share it with my little granddaughters in hopes of inspiring them to become artists.

I believe the Lord would have me share this painting video with you in the hopes it will bring some hope or comfort to someone who may need it.

The Lord inspired me to begin this painting with one of my original bird paintings, a rather chaotic looking one! First He led me to deconstruct that bird painting and out of that insanity to begin something brand new; something bold and stable~

His throne began to emerge and then the form of Christ.

You will see this as you watch the video.

I have added the scriptures and end credits to my original drawing video with other video software since the art application software does not do anything but record the drawing, painting, or other creative processes, even mistakes!

But mistakes are part of the journey, aren’t they? 🙂

And now a word about my recent absence.

I know I can be silent sometimes for many long spaces.

But please don’t be alarmed by those seasons.

Chronic migraines make it quite a challenge to do anything with social media sometimes.

Always know I will come back, Lord willing, and share whatever He gives me to share with you.

Thank you always for your prayers.

Please know that no matter whether I’m present or absent, I’m always praying for you and your families. God knows this is true.

May the Lord use this painting video to bless and encourage those who need hope, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Love always and forever in Christ,

Suzanne ❤️

Forget Not

Forget Not

There has been so much bad news lately that sometimes I find myself feeling very anxious and unsafe.
Psalm 103:19 reminds me that God truly is in control of all things no matter what is going on in the world.

“The Lord hath prepared His throne in the heavens; and His kingdom ruleth over all.” ~ Psalms 103:19 KJV

The Psalmist tells us, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:”
Psalms 103:2 KJV

The word he used for “forget” means “to forget, ignore, cease to care…”

He then goes over all of the wonderful things the Lord does for us:
“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities;
Who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction;
Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” ~Psalms 103:3-5 KJV

Imagine spending a night in an agony that affects every fiber of your body, unable to feel Christ’s loving presence, certain that you’re the chief of sinners, unforgiven, forever condemned to this abyss of torment.

Whenever there is a bad storm or rainy weather, I get violent migraines that rupture my mind with as severe emotional pain as the physical and neurological symptoms they cause.

Suddenly it seems I’ve fallen into a bottomless pit and that no one loves me—not even Jesus. I feel as if I’m the most despised of souls by everyone, even my family. I’m completely cut off, isolated in an abyss of pain.
The burden of all the sins in the world are fastened around my aching head in a crown of thorns as sharp as daggers. My legs will not be still and seem like a thousand snakes are crawling inside of them. “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?”

I see Jesus on the cross crying to His Father and I cry out in tears for the Lord to come rescue me from this horrible torment. But I neither see nor feel Him. I’m a condemned sinner screaming and weeping in the darkness for I can’t bear to look at any light.

There in the Abyss I weep tears of remorse.
Surely I must have been unkind to my husband, been the worst of mothers and grandmothers, daughters, siblings, friends, and citizens.
I’m certain that I must have failed God and everyone else.
And the most tormenting of all—-I must have committed the unpardonable sin— why else would I keep having these wretched migraines? Why else would God keep letting this happen to me?

In that pit of Sheol showers of condemnation pour mercilessly upon my soul like the rain drumming endlessly upon our windows and roof as the pain and neurological symptoms torture me.

My precious husband comes and prays for me, while I weep and pray unable to feel either Christ’s presence or love, nor even Mark’s, until at last I fall asleep, exhausted.

The next morning my symptoms are gone. I awake as if resurrected to new life. I’m filled with wondrous joy and peace, How grateful I am that Jesus went to the cross for me; that He has washed my sins away as far as the east is from the west. “Bless the Lord oh my soul. Forget not all His benefits. Who forgives all our sins, who heals all our diseases…”
The beautiful sense of Christ’s love and presence enfold me in His arms.

I know then that He has held me throughout the night. He had not really abandoned me.
Yet the dark storm of pain from my fierce migraine made me feel hidden from Christ’s presence and forsaken by Him who had promised to never fail or forsake me.

The Psalmist once experienced something like this.
“Will the Lord cast off for ever?
And will He be favourable no more?
Is His mercy clean gone for ever?
Doth His promise fail for evermore?
Hath God forgotten to be gracious?
Hath He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah.

And I said, This is my infirmity:
but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.” Psalms 77:7-10 KJV

He goes through the bad things he suffers but then he says, “Ok, this is happening because of my afflictions. But I won’t dwell on the suffering. I will remember the good things God has done for me.”

In other words, “Bless the Lord oh my soul! Forget not all His benefits!”

Nationally we are experiencing a stormy path of darkness.
Severe pain and troubling circumstances can make us feel isolated from the loving presence of God and cut off from all His promises.

God’s word promises that He heals all our diseases, He forgives all our sins.
God is watching over all of us. He is still on His throne.
He has not hidden His face from us.
He hears all our prayers.
Just as He eventually heals me from my migraines, I believe that the Lord will ultimately heal our nation from our current plague of troubles.

The definition for the word the Psalmist used for healing is interesting: (BDB Bible Dictionary Definition of original translation~ rapha~Strong’s H7495)
To be healed of national hurts (figuratively)
Of personal distress (figuratively)
Of national defects of hurts (figuratively)
To heal (literally)
Of hurts of nations (Involving restored favor)

“The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
He will not always chide: neither will He keep His anger forever.
He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us
according to our iniquities.

For as the heaven is high above the earth,
so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him.
As far as the east is from the west,
so far hath He removed our transgressions from us.”
Psalms 103:8-12 KJV

Not one of us deserves the grace that has been given us by the Lord through the cross of Christ, for the Bible declares that all of us are sinners.

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men,
to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy:
there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
Psalms 14:2-3 KJV

I guess our world reflects what the Bible declares we are.
A mess.
Jesus, the Son of God, came to die for us all to make us holy and to clean our souls up~to forgive our sins and heal us spiritually~to make us one with Him.
This is very good news and fills me with such joy and peace!

Peace I Leave with You

Jesus said, Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth,
give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27 KJV

I appreciate Christ’s gift of salvation and forgiveness more than I can ever say because of my chronic migraine affliction.
Therefore I pray that I will never forget, mislay, or cease to care about this wondrous benefit from God, this gift and treasure of everlasting life and peace with God that my Lord Jesus suffered and died on the cross to give me and everyone in the whole world who will receive it.

“Bless the Lord,
O my soul:
and all that is within me,
bless His holy name.
Bless the Lord,
O my soul,
and forget not
all His benefits…”
Psalms 103:1-2 KJV
In Jesus’ name, Amen and amen.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your Gift of Salvation in Christ,
the forgiveness of sins
As far as the east is from the west,
Your measureless love for us,
Oh thank You and may we never forget
Or mislay, or cease to care about all You do for us every day
For Thy mercies are new every morning,
In Jesus name.
Amen and amen.

Christ, My Healer

Christ, My Healer

I Am the God that heals thee
I mend the broken hearts
I restore the shattered souls
That have been torn apart…

I Am the God that heals thee
Who bears with thee thy pain
I bore upon My cross thy grief,
Thy sickness, and thy shame…

I bore thy suffering, thy sin
And by My stripes you’re healed
And made whole within thy soul,
Redeemed, forever sealed…
Upon My heart, upon My hands
You ever are engraved,
Forgiven from thy every sin,
Thy soul within is saved.

I Am Thy God that heals thee
Within thy very soul,
I’m working every day you live
To ever make thee whole…
Perfecting thee on thy journey
Since it was begun,
I will complete My work in thee

Until Thy journey’s done,

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer

Lord, many of Thy children are suffering. Please wrap Thy Holy arms around each one of them. Help them to know that You love them very much.

May they feel Thy tangible presence with them as they walk through the Shadow Valley; may they know without a doubt that You are with them, so they will have no fear.

May You comfort and encourage them today and give them peace and hope that You will surely bring them through this dark time; that there is joy and light at the end of this seemingly endless tunnel.

Though weeping may endure for a night, joy will come in the morning, for so Thy Word has promised.

Lord, please hold their hands and pour Thy peace upon them without measure; let them know that You love them as if they were the only child that You had to love. Thank You Lord, we love You.

In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.

Death Could Not Hold Him

Death Could Not Hold Him

On the cross Christ bore the sins
Of all humanity
Not all the pain and sin and shame
For all eternity
Not even all the hosts of hell
Nor death claimed victory…

Over Christ, God’s only Son
Who shed His spotless blood
To redeem our sinful souls
And make us each His child…

Born anew in righteousness,
Not ours but Christ’s alone,
A righteousness we could not earn
But His redemption clothed.

Christ purchased righteousness for us
With His spotless blood;
We receive His gift of grace,
By faith we know and trust

That God is ever faithful,
That He can never lie
He was faithful to His Son
To raise Him back to life
After Jesus bore our sins
And suffered hell three days
His Father kept His Holy Word
And rose Him from the grave…

Now He lives to die no more
So all can now be saved
Who come to Christ for salvation
When to the Lord they pray
Asking Christ into their heart
His children now are they
To ever walk with Him by faith
To love Jesus with all their heart
And ever sing His praise.
In Jesus’ holy name,
Amen.

Jumping and Twirling Forever

Jumping And Twirling Forever 🖤

It is with great sorrow that Mark and I share with you the sad news that our little Yorkie Miss Phee has passed away.

We would like to thank all of you who prayed for her during her recent illness.
She put up a brave fight but in the end it was the Lord’s will to take her home.

We are so thankful that she lived nearly twelve years with us which was truly miraculous.
Our vet had told us that dogs with a liver shunt like Miss Phee usually only survive between three to five years without the surgery that can sometimes correct the problem, and between eight to ten years with the surgery, if the liver shunt is even operable.

Not only was the surgery very risky, the recovery process imposed impossible demands upon a little high strung dog, not withstanding the dangerous odds that once they got into the operation, her shunt might be inoperable.

When we first discovered Phee’s liver shunt, the Lord reminded me of His original promise He’d given me three years earlier, when as a puppy she’d had to have her spaying done the second time because of her allergy to the sutures.

The Lord had promised He would give my little Phee a long life and that she was going to be a healthy little dog. He said that her liver shunt was but a bump on her path of life and that He was still going to give her many long happy years with us.

I questioned God at the time. “But Lord, You promised she would be a healthy little dog. A liver shunt is not a healthy dog! Why did You tell me she would be healthy when You knew all along that she was defective?”

“I never lie,” the Lord reminded me of His word which says,
“In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;” Titus 1:2 KJV

Then I must have heard Your promise wrong! I fussed at God.

“No you did not,” the Lord reassured my heart. “I promised she would be a healthy little dog on MY terms, not your terms.
Just as you are healthy and strong on My terms as long as you abide in Me and stay within the boundaries I have set for you, and take your medications, You are able to do all that I enable you to do, You are able to accomplish My will and purpose for you on this earth. That is My definition of good health.
I don’t define good health on your terms.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV

If you demand that I conform to your definitions and terms of health or healing or anything in this life, You will always be disappointed with Me and never believe that You hear from Me. You will never be able to walk by faith. And without faith You cannot hope to walk with Me…”

““Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.” Habakkuk 2:4 KJV

We opted to believe God’s promise and to trust Him. He promised that if we gave little Phee the proper medications and diet that she would be a healthy little dog.

Throughout all the years Miss Phee lived with us we found God faithful to His word. She truly was a healthy little dog even though we sometimes even gave her little treats like cheese that she craved.

All I can figure is that God had mercy on her little soul and let her have something special sometimes to vary her restricted diet.

An extremely finicky eater, could any dog have despised dog food more than Miss Phee?
But had we eaten the stuff, she would have gobbled it right up!
She craved anything that we ate. Especially all of the naughty things she was not supposed to eat… 🙂
She somehow always knew if something was dog food though~ even the gourmet most expensive variety. She would have no parts of it.

She was seven parts human, 2 parts cat, and one part little ferocious doggy who thought she was bigger than the biggest doggy in the world with a severe bark.

God was faithful to His word. He indeed “…keeps every promise forever.” ~Psalm 146:6
For Miss Phee was like a healthy little puppy in every way as long as we gave her the medications and appropriate diet for a liver shunt dog… until almost six months past her eleventh birthday.

In the late Fall she became dangerously ill, but thankfully recovered.
When she became ill again in January her vet diagnosed back pain due to her constant jumping and twirling.

For she was still jumping and twirling despite all our efforts to curb this behavior to help her back heal. Miss Phee loved to jump and twirl always. It was just her nature. Jump and twirl for treats…jump and twirl…pick me up…jump and twirl to tell us she was happy and so forth…

Her vet let us know that the main issue was no longer her back from her constant jumping. For no matter which way he’d moved her on the examining table, she did not seem to be in any pain. It was her liver shunt. Her body was failing her. An excellent vet, he worked so hard with us to help her survive.

Off and on since this past January Phee would get well and then sick again…it was like the Lord was preparing us to let go of her.
Even three days before she went back to Jesus, she had a momentary surge of energy where she was able to “jump and twirl” like her old self. She even barked!

I dared hope that she might be healed. But then she continued to regress until we saw that she would never recover and was in a state of constant suffering.

Mark and I have wept for the last week in grief over losing our beloved little Phee. She was so special to us.

The other morning just before waking I had the most amazing dream. I woke up smiling.

“Honey,” I said to Mark who was sleeping beside me. “I dreamed about Miss Phee!”
Mark said groggily, “What did you dream?”

“Phee was sitting on the Lord’s lap and He was feeding her what she always lusted after in this life~a chocolate peanut butter cup!
And you know what! Little Phee could talk!

She said, “Look Mommy! See what I can do now!”
Then she proceeded to take a flying leap off the Lord’s lap ~ she went really far too!

Then the Lord produced this bright green coiled leash out of nowhere and suddenly it sprang out and reeled Miss Phee back to Him like a yo yo! She laughed and yipped, and barked and twirled like it was a really fun game.

She sprang off His lap and He reeled her in again two or three times, and she laughed and barked and yipped and twirled just like her little self! Have you ever?”

Mark smiled. “Phee always did beg for those peanut butter cups. And you always told her that dogs had to wait till the Marriage Supper of the Lamb to eat chocolate!”

Doink!

“Honey~that dream isn’t literal~ don’t you know the Lord gave me that dream to assure us that our little Phee is with Him and that she’s happily playing fun games with Jesus who loves her!

Now she’s where she can leap out as far as she wants and can even jump and twirl again!

And best of all, she can even eat chocolate!
All the things that she couldn’t do in this life…
For there are no bad things in Heaven!

And I reckon the leash is to show that even in Heaven there are boundaries. The Lord God always must be obeyed, worshiped, and feared by all creatures in Heaven as well as on earth. For He is the Lord of all Creation.

I’m just certain that dream is surely metaphorical!”

Well…right now I prefer to think Phee doggie is sitting on Jesus’ lap and eating Reese’s cups and I’m going back to my “metaphorical” sleep…”

Whatever…”

We both miss our little dog dreadfully but we are thankful to the Lord who holds her now, knowing she is no longer suffering and in pain.

I truly believe that little Phee is where we who trust in Christ as our Savior will be someday, with Jesus and our Heavenly Father who will wipe all our tears away and make all things new.

SCRIPTURES FOR MEDITATION…

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” Revelation 21:4-5 KJV

All NATURE WILL BE REDEEMED FROM BONDAGE BY CHRIST…

For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.” Romans‬ ‭8:19-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

All CREATURES WORSHIP GOD WITH WHATEVER VOICES THEY ARE GIVEN…

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
Saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and b
lessing.”

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea,
and all that are in them, heard I saying,
“Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”
Revelation 5:11-13 KJV

Prayer

Thank You Heavenly Father, for the gift of Miss Phee. What a beautiful little treasure she was to us. Though she will not return to us, we have the blessed assurance that we will go to her someday and be reunited with her again in Paradise with You because of Thy Son Jesus Christ’s gift of redemption for us and for all of Thy Creation. Thank You for Thy gift of immeasurable love for us, in Jesus’ name, amen. ❤️

Lord, Help Me To Always Pray

Lord Help Me To Always Pray

Lord, help me to always pray
And not give up on Thee,
To know that You are listening
Although I cannot see…
Thy face nor hear Thy voice
With neither eye nor ear,
And yet Thy Word has promised
Thy sheep Thy voice can hear…

Thy sheep You hold always
Firmly in Thy hands,
Eternal life You give them,
None shall ever pluck them…
From out of Thy hands
For there are none so strong
As Father God who holds each one
Who’s greatest above all!

Lord, help me to always pray
And not give up on Thee
Nor melt into a pool of tears
Then freeze in unbelief.

For Jesus, You are holding me
Firmly in Thy grip
Nothing can remove me,
And You won’t let me slip…

None can separate me from
Thy love, not life nor death,
No, not all the hosts of hell
Though me they come against
And form a battle line
From one end east to west
They cannot wrest me from
Thy mighty hands, Lord Jesus…

You are one with Father God,
The greatest above all
Who holds all of Thy holy sheep
Forever in His heart,

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Scripture For Meditation

“Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and He bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so He bringeth them unto their desired haven. Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭107:28-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Dear Heavenly Father, may we cry to You when we are troubled knowing that You hear our prayers.

Although we cannot see You, You are watching over us at all times.

Thy Word says in Isaiah 40 that You “…sit above the circle of the earth and that the people below are as grasshoppers…”

Though we are so tiny to You and that there are vast numbers of us, Thy Word also assures us that You cherish each of us.

You know and love us as if we were the only ones You had to love and that You want us to come to know You intimately.

Thy Word in Psalm 139 says that Your thoughts toward us outnumber the grains of sand on the seashore.

The Prophet Isaiah wrote that You number the stars and call them all by name, and You measure the dust of the earth.

Yet, Lord, Thy Word assures us that Thy love for each one of us is measureless.

So infinite is Thy love that You suffered and died for us on the cross in the person of Jesus Christ, Thy Holy Son, whose spotless blood paid the price to redeem us all from our sins.

When we doubt Thy love, may we look at the cross and see Thy love for us in the suffering of Jesus Christ to pay the price so that we could have fellowship with You, forgiveness from our sins, and eternal life.

Father God, thank You for giving Your Son Jesus Christ to pay for our sins. Forgive us for our trespasses. Help us to read Thy word to know how to live in a way that pleases You and to do Thy will on this earth.

Help us all to invite Jesus to live in our hearts to be our Savior so that we might have eternal life with You, in Jesus’ name, amen. I love You, Lord. 🖤

“But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭40:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This Too Shall Pass

The Covid 19 pandemic has affected all of us.

Many live in states that are under mandates to stay at home except for fetching groceries, medications, and other necessities. When we meet other people in public like at the store or on a walk we must keep at least six feet apart from them.

I feel great compassion for those who are new to the world of social distancing. Having suffered from chronic migraines for many years I’m well acquainted with living in isolation.

But I can tell you there are ways to make your experience more positive.

First, keep in mind the thought that like all storms at some point “…this too shall pass.”

Isaiah the prophet wrote, ““Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.” ~ Isaiah 26:3 KJV

The Lord has never failed to uphold and give me His peace as I focused my thoughts on Him and maintained an attitude of prayer no matter what the situation.

Prayer is simply talking to God

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”~ Hebrews 4:16 KJV

Abiding in prayer has helped me to draw closer to Christ and strengthened my faith.

If you need help praying, try reading the Bible and turning the scriptures into prayers. Consider the verse from Isaiah 26:3 about peace. You might pray that verse as: “Lord, help me keep my mind focused on thee, please give me Thy perfect peace, and help me trust in thee, in Jesus’ name, amen.”

Prayer is also interceding on behalf of someone’s need.

Prayer can be asking the Lord to meet someone’s need, for healing, for wisdom for leaders, for the nation or nations of the world, for world peace, and so forth.

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth…1 Timothy 2:1-4

I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4, 8 KJV

A good idea would be to get a journal and to write your prayers to the Lord. Write your thoughts to Him. Talk to Him. Tell Him all your worries and fears…

“…Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 KJV

When anxious, maintaining an attitude of thankfulness is vitally important. Thinking about all the ways God has come through for me before is something that has always helped me through difficult times.

It is something that energizes and motivates my faith like nothing else!

After telling the Lord about all your fears and worries, why not also try to find at least five things to be thankful for.

Think about at least one way God has answered a prayer you have prayed in the past. How has He come through for you when You were trusting Him?

Keeping a thankful journal is a good habit to cultivate.

These are some of the practices that have always encouraged me during times when I’ve been housebound due to my autoimmune illness.

I pray that these guidelines will also encourage you and help grow your faith both now, during these uncertain times, and long after this Covid 19 storm passes, as it surely will.

No unpredictable path is ever free from stress or anxiety. But God’s grace can give us His peace as we focus our thoughts on Him and on what is positive.

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” ~Philippians 4:8 NLT (*New Living Translation)

God’s word tells us, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” ( *See Philippians 4:13)

Those who wait upon the Lord will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint… (*See Isaiah 40:31)

The Lord will give strength to His people, the Lord will bless His people with peace… (*See Psalm 29:11)

Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength…” (*See Isaiah 26:4)

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, please bless all Thy precious children who are reading this prayer. Guard their going out and their coming in from this time forth till forever, and keep them healthy, strong, and sound in every way, protecting them and their loved ones from all evil, harm, sickness, and danger, and fill them with rivers of Thy perfect peace and hope; thank You, Lord, we love You, In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.🖤

Prayer For Miss Phee

Miss Phee

Dear Friends,

These past few days have been very challenging for my husband and me. Our little Yorkie, Miss Phee, has been suffering from an illness that is difficult to treat.

I ask you to join me in praying for her healing.
I’m truly devastated over her illness.

She is eleven, so she’s not a young dog, but she’s a Yorkie and has always been full of life and energy up until this year.
However, she has suffered from a liver shunt since she was three years old. Right now she is dealing with related issues, but not the liver shunt directly.

She hurt her back several months ago by jumping too much off of the furniture.
I found that I could not prevent my little dog from hurdling herself off of things when she was excited~alas! Now she has pain associated with all that leaping about.

Alas—everything is painful for Miss Phee right now. And she needs much prayer.
I remember my late dad saying as he got into his eighties that growing older was not for sissies. He even had a small pillow with that saying embroidered on it.
Miss Phee must be at least eighty or ninety in dog years by now.
I guess if she could talk she would agree with my dad’s bit of senior wisdom.

I am so grateful to the Lord that I have had my little Phee for eleven years, for liver shunt dogs aren’t usually as healthy as my little Miss Phee has been up until a few months ago.

Her vet said before she hurt her back that she was the poster dog for liver shunt dogs! Then back in the fall it all went downhill.

Miss Phee~ Tough Doggie 🖤

From the get-go Miss Phee was a fierce fighter. For when she was just a wee puppy, the vet had to redo her sutures about two months after she was spayed because she was allergic to the sutures and they caused her to have a bad reaction. She became very ill and had to go through that surgery twice.

I wept and prayed before the Lord for her healing for she had to be hospitalized for a week. It seemed I’d only had her for three months though it truly had been since August and now she was going to be taken from me. How could that be possible!
But at the time the Lord promised she would be restored to me. He even gave me a promise that not only would she be healed, but she would be a healthy and strong little dog and that I would have her with me to enjoy for many years.
He even gave me a sketch of her to go with my prayer.

Miss Phee had come to me through a dream that summer ~and a sketch.
Now God was giving me another promise.
Another sketch.
He would not take her away.
I stopped crying.

The previous spring and summer were among the worst of my life health wise. I had suffered the worst migraines ever up until that point.

My daughter was planning an early September wedding and I wanted very much to help her with her big day. I felt bad that I was bed ridden with allergies and severe migraines and was unable to be a part of the planning.
The doctors could do nothing for me.
I was losing hope that I would even be able to attend her wedding as mother of the bride. I was very depressed.

I had loved to walk before I got sick and had a particular route in my neighborhood that I took every day. As I walked I memorized the psalms and prayed for family and all kinds of needs as the Lord led me.

When I reached the summit of one particularly challenging hill, there was a panorama of the most beautiful mountains off in the distance. And I was always on a particular bible verse at that time.

As the mountains are round about Jerusalem,
so the Lord is round about His people from henceforth even for ever.” Psalms 125:2 KJV

The Lord was around me. I knew He was with me just as those mountains surrounded me.

One night I could not sleep, the pain in my head and neck were so severe. The Lord then encouraged me to say in my mind the Psalms I had memorized when I had been able to take my walks. He encouraged me to pray and meditate on His Word despite my pain
.

He said to walk with Him in the Spirit, to walk our route in my heart while saying the psalms I had memorized.

The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear, the Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27:1

As I began to repeat the Psalms over and over I drifted off to sleep. I saw my walking route. It was a beautiful summer day, with a bright blue sky and lovely white clouds drifting above me. Having walked down our big hill, I now found myself on the flat road saying Psalm 27. The Lord was with me in my heart.

Suddenly there was a little dog with me! I didn’t know what kind of dog this was. It just was a tiny little dog. We walked down the flat road through the neighborhood and on to the next one. Soon we came to the big hill.

I had to carry the tiny puppy in my arms because she could not walk up the big hill.

“As the mountains are round about Jerusalem so the Lord is round about His people from henceforth even to forever.” Psalm 125:2

We got back home and sat in the swing out back and looked up at the blue sky filled with clouds and prayed. In my dream, I saw Mark come home from work. He came up to the swing and looked at the little dog and lovingly smiled at her.

Just two weeks before I had prayed for a little dog and then asked Mark and he had said, “I don’t want to have an indoor dog, or any little dog in our house! I really can’t stand little dogs!”
I had been praying and having my quiet time downstairs and started crying. “Lord I wish I had a little dog. But Mark doesn’t want one.
The Lord spoke to my heart.
I will change Mark’s heart.

Did I hear God right? I didn’t ask Mark again.

In my dream I thought about what God had promised me about changing Mark’s heart, when he came up to me and the little dog in the swing. God had promised to change his heart. Now Mark joined us and picked up the little dog and smiled. He lovingly petted the puppy’s ears who licked his fingers.
In my dream we all three sat in the swing in the backyard under the trees in the beautiful golden afternoon sunlight as the bright clouds drifted across the sky above us.

I then woke up and looked at Mark sleeping beside me in wonder.

“HONEY! I DREAMED ABOUT A LITTLE DOG!

Mark groggily woke up and asked me about my dream. I told him all about it. He sighed.

The next day he asked me to draw the little dog. I drew what the dog looked like in my dream. We took the sketch to the library and started searching through every dog book we could find. We finally found the breed that matched the dog in the sketch. It looked like a Yorkie puppy!

That morning I had another dream. In it the Lord Jesus was giving me that little Yorkie puppy from my earlier dream. He said this was my angel dog. I was responsible to take care of her now.
And so was Mark.
Then He released her to me.

Down, down, down from His arms into my space she came! Then I awoke filled with joy at this beautiful new gift!

~Mark and Miss Phee~

Later that day Mark called around and found a breeder in a town a couple of hours away. We went to see her and she had two female puppies. The smallest little one seemed to choose me! The little dog clung to me as I sang to comfort her on our way home that afternoon.

My neurologist found a medication that stopped my migraines just in time for my daughter’s wedding a couple weeks later. I was able to attend and we took little Phee. I named her Phoenix and Mark promptly renamed her Phee.

The Lord truly did change Mark’s heart because he has loved little Phee from the start. And she loves him. He has even bought clothes for her. That would never have happened had God not done a miracle in his heart.

She was God’s gift not only to me but to Mark as well.
Then when I almost lost Miss Phee after she got spayed, God restored her to me with a promise and another sketch.

Now she is sick again.

You may wonder how if God promised she would be a healthy and strong little dog, did He then let her get the liver shunt?
Why did she have health issues then?
Because I have learned that God does not define good health the way humans do.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,” saith the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV

Miss Phee has always been healthy and strong in her own way, despite her liver shunt. Her doctor even said she was the poster dog for liver shunt dogs.
This was true as long as she stayed within her boundaries and was given her meds. If she would eat the right things, she was healthy and strong and filled with energy and life.

“… they cry unto the Lord in their trouble,
and He saveth them out of their distresses.
He sent His word, and healed them,
and delivered them from their destructions.
Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness,
and for His wonderful works to the children of men!”
Psalms 107:19-21 KJV

I ask you to join me in praying for my little Phee. If it is God’s will, He will heal her once again as He has before.

Thank you so much. God bless you,

In Christ’s Love,

Suzanne

Please Pray for Miss Phee 🖤

Lord, I ask You hear my prayer
Please heal Miss Phee I pray
Oh Jesus, Lord, have mercy
On her where she lay.

Have mercy on her, Jesus,
Heal my little dog,
Help her bark with joy again
Her tail to wag with love.

Lord Jesus, help her eat
And food not be her foe
Help her body process food
The way it’s supposed to go.

Lord Jesus, send Thy word,
And fill her heart with life
Let her legs be strong again
And fill her eyes with light.

Wrap her in Thy arms,
Lord, she is so cold!
Help her not to be in pain,
For Jesus, she is old…

Heal her, Jesus, give her back
Her little life, I ask
Hold her Jesus, hold her now,
Heal her with Thy hands.

Lord Jesus, see her suffering!
She’s suffered long with this!
Heal her now, help her get well,
Lord Jesus, let her live!

Oh Lord, she is so precious,
Hear my cry, I pray!
Make her well and let her live

The Traveler’s Scripture Prayer Card

Traveler’s Illustrated Scripture Prayer Card

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”
Psalms 121:8 KJV

In the illustration for this prayer card, the Lord inspired me to paint the central figure as a visual metaphor representing a female traveler.
She is a student learning lessons on the path of life, collecting them in (metaphorical) note books that she carries as her life lesson journals in her arms next to her heart where they are engraved even as she lives them.

We are all travelers, sojourners on this earth. The face on my traveler is purposely in shadow. Who is she? What will be the outcome of her journey?
That is the question in our own mind whenever we embark on some trip.
We must go by faith and we proceed on our way (usually) with joy and optimism.

We pray in hope over our babies when they begin their path of life.
We pray in sorrow as we watch loved ones depart on their journey into eternity.

Ever since I learned this Bible verse, Psalm 121:8 has been a foundational prayer that I offer to God daily.

We pray this beautiful prayer asking the Lord to guard our going out and our coming in from this time forth~ right now~ till forever ~ throughout our whole lives and for all eternity.

By praying this prayer we are acknowledging that our Creator is in control of all things that pertain to us and we are renewing our trust in His care as our Holy Protector, Good Shepherd, and Guardian.

The word the Psalmist used for *preserve is * shamar (transliteration) (BDB Thayer Bible Dictionary Definition)
To keep, guard, observe, give heed… protect, save life…watchman… to keep within bounds, restrain…

The verse before the affirmation that God shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from now till forever promises: “The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul.” Psalm 121:7

The word for evil is ra’ ra’ ah (transliteration)~from the BDB definition)
Bad, evil…disagreeable, malignant…giving pain, unhappiness, misery…displeasing, bad value…distress, adversity injury, wrong, ethical evil, from a word meaning…
Ra-ah (phonetic); to be bad, be evil > to break, shatter, to be broken, be broken asunder, broken in pieces. Origin: a primitive root.

Now we know that we all have bad days. And we all get sick. I have severe migraines every day…though I pray this wondrous prayer daily, and many more besides.

So what exactly kind of evil does the verse promise that God will preserve us from then?
The following verse defines the promise: “He shall preserve thy soul…”
What does the soul mean?
The word used means * neh-fesh (*Phonetic)
The soul, self, life, creature, appetite, mind, living being, desire, emotion, passion, /that which breathes, the breathing substance or being, soul, the inner being of man/ the living being/ seat of the appetites/ seat of emotions and passions/ activity of the mind/activity of the will/activity of the character…

In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus taught His disciples to pray something very important that is related to Psalm 121 every day:

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
Matthew 6:13 KJV

As we continue to give God the control over our lives He is going to guard and to preserve our will, and give us self control, and work in us the grace to do what is good and right and proper.

“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
Philippians 2:13 KJV

It is truly only God’s grace that protects each one of us from doing the unthinkable. God’s Holy Spirit will restrain our sinful impulses as we invite our Lord Jesus Christ to be our Guardian God to keep us from harm and danger, and surround us with His holy favor, so that we can live peaceful, happy lives that honor and glorify Him.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

As we pray such prayers from God’s word we are praying His will~for God’s word IS His will.

As we pray and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to be the Lord of our lives, we are inviting our Creator to not only participate or share in our lives but to be our Guardian God, our Shepherd, and Guide, our Protector from all evil and temptations to do harm.

For all of us are sinners. God’s word says that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”

Jesus Christ the Son of God suffered and died on the cross for the sins of all humanity to make people righteous by His spotless blood. He then rose again from the dead after three days and now lives forever to rule and reign over all the Universe.

He makes those who receive Him into their hearts a new creature reborn in their spirits in His image. He puts His Holy Spirit in our hearts and gives us the desire to love Him and other people and do the things that agree with His will.
How does He accomplish these miracles?

By the gift of His almighty grace.

Long ago the story is told that as a Christian watched a condemned man being led to the gallows he humbly bowed his head and said, “But for the grace of God there go I…”

Praying the Traveler’s Prayer from Psalm 121:8 won’t guarantee that a soul will not have adversity. But it will invite our Creator to take over the reins in our life and guard our SOUL from evil.

It gives our Creator great joy when we invite Him through prayer to protect us.
For He loves us and wants to share our lives with us in intimate fellowship.
God longs to be our Friend.
The Lord wants to guard our going out and our coming in from this time forth even to forever.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, please guard my going out and my coming in from this time forth even to forever, in Jesus holy name, amen.

Psalm 121
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
From whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord,
Which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is thy keeper:
The Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil:
He shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out
And thy coming in from this time forth,
And even for evermore.”
~Psalms 121:1-8 KJV

What Time I Am Afraid

What Time I Am Afraid

What time I am afraid
I will give Thee thanks
Though all around me fall
I’ll thank Thee for Thy grace
By the blood of Jesus
Through His cross by faith.

What time I am afraid
To Thee, oh Lord, I’ll run,
I will confess my sins
I’ll ask Thee search my heart.

What time I am afraid
I’ll put my Hope in Thee;
You’ll come to my defense
And will my fortress be.

What time I am afraid
I’ll give to Thee my fears
I will sing to Thee
Then to me You’ll draw near.

What time I am afraid,
Oh Lord, I’ll trust in Thee
And thank You, Jesus, for Thy love
And mercy You show me;
Though I am a sinner, Lord,
Thy gift of love is free.

What time I am afraid
I will trust Thee, Lord,
Though my sins be scarlet
You’ve clothed me with Thy robe
Of holy righteousness
Gifted from Thy own
While You these scarlet sins of mine
Upon Thy cross You bore.

What time I am afraid,
Lord, in Thee I will trust
You’ve cast my sins as far away
As east is from the west
And will remember them no more
Not for eternity;
What time I am afraid, oh Lord,
These things I will believe,
In Jesus’ holy name, amen.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for this prayer poem and these scriptures You gave me to share today.

May You use them to comfort and encourage any and all who are fearful, may You wrap Thy holy arms around them and comfort them with the calm assurance of Thy measureless love for them.

Help them know that You love them as if they were the only child that You had to love.

Bless them with a thousand reminders of Thy love for them today and help them know without a doubt that You have washed all their sins away in the spotless blood of Thy Son Jesus Christ as far as the east is from the west.

Thank You, We love You, Lord, In Jesus name, Amen.
