All My Cares

Lord, I Give Thee All My Cares

Lord, I give Thee all my cares

I come before Thee now,

On Thy Altar lay them, Lord,

I lay my burdens down.

Lord Jesus, You said, “Come, oh come,

You weary come to Me

And lay thy heavy burdens down

And leave them at My feet.”

Upon thee take My yoke

And rest I’ll give to thee,”

This is what You said, Jesus,

To all who are weary.

I come, I come, Lord Jesus,

To Thee with all my needs

I give to Thee my troubles

While You give me Thy peace.

I come, I come, Lord Jesus,

And give Thee all my cares

And in my heart You sing to me

Thy love and mercy prayers

That comfort and restore my soul

And wash away my fears,

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Jesus said, “Come unto Me,

all ye that labor and are heavy laden,

and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke upon you,

and learn of Me;

for I am meek and lowly in heart:

And ye shall find rest unto your souls.”

~ Matthew 11:28-29

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You that we can come to Thy Altar and cast our burdens and cares at Thy feet knowing that You care for each one of us and love us as much as if we were Thy only child You had to love.

Thank You that You will lift our cares and burdens and replace them with Thy peace. You will never fail or forsake us. For so Thy word has promised and You keep every promise forever.

Father God, thank You for loving us so much that although we are sinners You sent Thy beloved Son Jesus to the cross to forgive us and redeem us from our sins.

We love You, In Jesus name, amen.

Songs Of Comfort

One night a few years ago I was out with my husband and friends who’s son was performing on the vibes at a local cafe.
It was getting late, some young women soaked in perfume came in and sat near us.
I immediately prayed that the Lord would protect me from getting a migraine.
Scents are one of my fiercest migraine triggers.
Suddenly as I was listening to the music, I became aware of all of the colors in the cafe; then everything I saw and heard poured like an uncontrolled river into my brain simultaneously.
I had no ability to focus on anything I heard or saw.
Now the cafe loomed up around me like a room crowded with thunder and giants in a blaze of unrestrained colors. I seemed to see every minute detail of everything ~the people and what they were wearing, every nuance of every color in the room, the windows, what was outside them, what was on the walls, the globe lights ~ and I could smell every odor~ the food cooking, the smoke from the grill, the smell of people and their colognes, shampoo, soap, as well as whatever they were drinking or eating ~ all of which was profoundly nauseating.
And all the while the music poured into my ears along with all of the other information without a director to focus my thoughts. It was like being in a madhouse.
As panic arose in my heart, I prayed for the Lord to rescue me.
Suddenly I felt His presence holding me close.
Although my brain was still in a state of uncontrolled sensory input, now I was no longer afraid for the Lord was guarding my thoughts and helping me to view the experience from a different perspective.
For the Lord had suggested to me, “Isn’t this fascinating, you don’t often get to see and hear things like this. Just think of it as a story you are writing.”
So then I calmed down and was even able for a few seconds at least to focus on bits of conversations around me. If raucous laughter was like nails piercing my ears, even the barest whispers were strangely loud for I seemed able to hear every noise in the room along with the music.
One moment I was mesmerized by someone’s drama only to be attracted by someone else’s saga behind me, and then the music, then the colored lights, then BANG went my head exploding in pain, and the room went spinning and I almost passed out.
I don’t even know how Mark got me home.
I vaguely remember our friends asking if I were all right.
Then Mark saying we had to leave.
“Hush, Be Still, Be Silent…” one of the comforting songs on my new album Paths of Mercy is just the right prayer song for a migraine sufferer. 🙂
There are so many prayer songs on Paths of Mercy that are just right for someone who needs to calm down, to get quiet before the Lord, to return and rest in Christ.
The prayer songs on this album are some of the most encouraging songs that my Savior has ever inspired.
Sometimes people ask why they have to suffer. There is a passage in the Bible I cling to that helps me put my own suffering in perspective every time I listen to the comforting prayer songs, poems, and music the Lord gives me.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles,
so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort
we ourselves receive from God.
For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ,
so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation;
if we are comforted, it is for your comfort,
which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. ” (NIV) 2 Corinthians 1:3-6
“Oh Lord, You Know The Way I Take,” is a prayer song that reflects my challenges in just showing up to any task by faith when I barely have any strength to get out of bed.
The “Prayer Song to Jesus My Good Shepherd,” is one I love to listen to and sing often because it encompasses so many of my challenges and presents my needs upon Christ’s Altar of Mercy and Grace.

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 KJV

“Hush, Be Still, Be Silent…” the prayer song I referred to earlier, is one I praise and thank my Lord for always.
This song truly presents my needs to God when I have migraines and all my thoughts are whirring about in my brain like a blender out of control, and only the Lord can push the stop button and reassemble all the fragments and corral them back into the fold of rationality.
And which of us cannot say that we don’t need to seek the Lord now while He can be found?
I know I harp on this but All of these songs were inspired by the Holy Spirit and the scriptures.
They came to me as gifts from the Lord and I am profoundly grateful and humbled by them.
God’s gifts more than anything remind me of the truth of the scriptures that God indeed has no favorites.

Paths of Mercy Comforting Christian Prayer Songs by Suzanne Davis Harden All Glory To God

“To Everything A Season”

~ King Solomon wrote “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)
The Lord led me to call the new album of songs He inspired after this famous verse back in December when I’d originally planned to publish it.
The night before I had a dream that sent me to my knees for more guidance.
Indeed, though everything was finished and ready, the Lord wanted me to wait to publish that album. He would let me know when it was time.
I have learned in my walk with the Lord to listen to His Holy Spirit and wait on His perfect timing~ even if it does not make sense.

“The true children of God are those who let God’s Spirit lead them. The Spirit that we received is not a spirit that makes us slaves again and causes us to fear. The Spirit that we have makes us God’s chosen children. And with that Spirit we cry out, “ Abba, Father.” Romans 8:14-15 (ERV)

The Lord has led me to create other albums of beautiful music and then asked me to set them aside for a future date. He expects that I will obey Him without needing to know why.

“The path we walk is charted by faith, not by what we see with our eyes. 2 Corinthians 5:7 – (The Voice Bible)

But how do I know it’s God and not me? That is a very good question!
Our walk with Christ is a training ground in walking humbly with the Lord and living by faith and obedience to His Holy Spirit’s guidance within us.

“He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you Except to be just, and to love [and to diligently practice] kindness (compassion), And to walk humbly with your God [setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self-righteousness]?” Micah 6:8 – Amplified Bible

We will stumble and fall many times because we are human.
I have missed the Lord very often because of more faults in me than the hairs on my head!
The wonder is that He still chooses to use someone so broken and inept at trying to accomplish what He’s given me to do.
The Lord does not expect perfection from His children. He only asks that we trust and obey Him.

“We have this treasure from God, but we are only like clay jars that hold the treasure. This is to show that the amazing power we have is from God, not from us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7 (ERV)

Not one of us is perfect nor will we ever be this side of Heaven. God has no perfect children.
Only His Son Jesus Christ was perfect and He died to save us from our sins, and that we might be forgiven when we stumble.
God knew we would not be able to do everything He wanted us to perfectly. He forgives our mistakes.
He asks us to please get up again and be about His work.
Don’t let failures make you quit. Don’t let others make you quit either. Don’t let persecution or sickness or pain or troubles or anything in this world keep you from doing what God has asked you to do for His glory.
Right after my dream in December that warned me not to publish my album, I suffered a severe life threatening illness. How grateful I was to the Holy Spirit for His guidance!
Today I’m so thankful to be alive and praising my beautiful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for His mercy and grace towards me, a sinner He saved through His death on the cross. I praise my Holy Abba Father for raising His Son Jesus Christ from the dead to redeem my soul and give me the righteousness of Christ.
I’m made right in His eyes by the spotless blood of Jesus! He forgives me for all my sins as far as the east is from the west, and He expects that I will forgive others just as He has forgiven me.
The Lord Jesus Christ died to save every person who had ever lived or would live because of God’s measureless love for every soul He created.

“For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out His anger on us.” 1 Thessalonians 5:9 GW

And this beautiful gift is available to all who will ask Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior. “We have been saved by grace because we believed. We did not save ourselves. It was a gift from God. We are not saved by the things we have done, so there is nothing to boast about. God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God has made us new people so that we would spend our lives doing the good things He had already planned for us to do.” ~ Ephesians 2:8-10

May our Heavenly Father bless and encourage all who read this message today and fill each soul with His peace that passes all understanding and an abiding assurance of His measureless love for each one of them, in Jesus’ name amen.

Love always and forever in Christ,

Suzanne
