Oh where could I go from your Spirit,

Oh where could I flee from You, Lord?

If I take the wings of the morning

If I fly to the farthest shore,

If I ride to the heights of heaven,

If I fall to the depths of Sheol,

Your mercy will come and find me,

You will seek and find me, Lord

Your grace and mercy find me

No matter how far I flee,

Your love is everywhere I go,

My heart You will never leave.

When all the blessings go away

In the midst of the Shadowlands,

Lord, Your love will never leave

You’ll hold me in Your hand.

Your blessings, Lord, they are not You,

Oh may I not mistake

Your gifts as symbols of Your love,

And think my soul You hate,

When all the blessings go away,

Lord, in the fiery trials~

You’ll never take Your love away,

Forever I’m Your child.

Oh where could I go from Your Spirit?

Oh where could I flee from Your love?

You’re in my heart forever, Lord,

And I’m in Yours, oh God.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much that Your word promises that You will never leave or forsake us. You watch over us everywhere we go; You are with us in every moment of our lives, sharing in all our joys and suffering with us through all our sorrows and pain.

When we stumble on our path, You are there to lift us up, dust us off and help us to our feet again, ever ready to forgive knowing that we are not perfect. You cherish us for we are Your masterpieces, made in Your own image and You long for us to know how much You value us.

Help us to come close to You, to hear Your voice, to see Your face in the face of Your beloved Son Jesus Christ who died on the cross that we might be saved from our sins and be given eternal life.

Thank You for the wonder of Thy grace and of Thy measureless love for us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Remind Yourself

20131208-143615.jpg

Sometimes when we are going through a hard time and life seems overwhelming, God can seem far away. Our faith can even be challenged if we feel that God has forgotten us or doesn’t care about us anymore.
But when we are in the darkest valleys of life we need to remind ourselves of all the times that God has come through for us in the past. He has never failed a single one of His children who have trusted in Him yet. And if He’s never failed you before, He never will fail you.
God never ignores the cries of His children.
“The Lord watches over those who do what is right, and he hears their prayers.” (Psalm 34:15)
God never forgets His children. The Psalmist wrote,
“I am poor and weak, yet the Lord is thinking about me right now!” (Psalm 40:17)

King David wrote Psalm 40. When he was in the valley of despair he reminded himself of all the wonderful things God had done for him; all the ways God had come through for him.
By rehearsing those victories he encouraged his faith. We can learn a valuable lesson from David.
When tempted to despair, remind yourself of God’s past faithfulness to you.
He will yet again be faithful. Trust Him.

Psalm 40:1-5,
I waited patiently for God to help me; then he listened and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out from the bog and the mire,
and set my feet on a hard, firm path, and steadied me as I walked along.

He has given me a new song to sing, of praises to our God.
Now many will hear of the glorious things he did for me, and stand in awe before the Lord,
and put their trust in him.

Many blessings are given to those who trust the Lord and have no confidence
in those who are proud or who trust in idols.

O Lord my God, many and many a time you have done great miracles for us,
and we are ever in your thoughts. Who else can do such glorious things?
No one else can be compared with you.
There isn’t time to tell of all your wonderful deeds.”

Heavenly Father, may You bless and encourage the faith all who need a special touch from You.
Be with them in their valley, hold them close, fill them to overflowing with rivers of peace, hope, and joy from the streams of Thy heart. May they know You will never fail them. Thank You, Lord. I love You. In Jesus name. Amen.

The Measureless Love of God

The Measureless Love of God

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”~John 14:27

Jesus Christ taught that God is our loving Heavenly Father.
He said that God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that all who would believe in His death on the cross for their sins and subsequent resurrection, would never die, but could enjoy fellowship with God now on earth and also forever in eternal paradise. (See John 3:16)

Jesus taught that those who believe in Him as their Savior would be forgiven all their sins, reborn from above and adopted into God’s family as His own precious children.
He said that His children could ask His Heavenly Father for anything in His name and it would be done for them!

“Jesus said,”If you live in Me and what I say lives in you, then ask for anything you want, and it will be yours. I will do anything you ask the Father in My name so that the Father will be given glory because of the Son.” ~John 14:13-14
…If you ask Me to do something, I will do it.” ~John 15:7

Jesus said that our Father knows our needs even before we ask Him!
He taught that God is such a God of love that He even cares when a common sparrow falls to the ground and dies.
God measures the dust of the earth, the Bible tells us, and He cherishes each of us so much that He counts the very hairs on our head.

St. Paul wrote, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” ~Romans 8:31-32

Jesus said we must ask God for what we need even though He already knows our needs.
In Luke 18:1, He tells His disciples, “People ought to always pray and to never give up.”

Sometimes God may seem so silent as if He is not listening to our prayers. But He hears them all. The Psalmist envisioned our compassionate Creator
collecting our tears and putting them into a special bottle marked with our name.

Psalm 56:8 “You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle;
Are they not in Your book?”

God will answer our prayers in His own way and time.
The prophet Habakkuk wrote, “For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end fulfillment; it will not deceive or disappoint.
Though it tarry, wait earnestly for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day.”~ Habakkuk 2:3-4

Our God asks us to walk with Him day by day with eyes of faith, trusting Him and believing His word even though we cannot see or feel Him.
The author of the book of Hebrews wrote, “Faith is what makes real the things we hope for. It is proof of what we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews 1:6 “Without faith no one can please God. Whoever comes to God must believe that He is real and that He rewards those who sincerely try to find Him.”

“Look at the proud; his soul is not straight or right within him,
but the rigidly just and the uncompromisingly righteous man shall live
by his faith and in his faithfulness.”~Habakkuk 2:3-4

Our God is a merciful, compassionate Father. If He allows us to be thrown
into the fiery furnace of affliction to refine our faith, He will jump into that fire
alongside of us just as He did for the Hebrew captives in Babylon so long ago.
(See Daniel 3:24-25)

When my children were little, God gave me a beautiful poem to comfort and encourage me. I recently made it into a prayer song, now available on my album, “God’s Rainbow Promise.” May this prayer song comfort and encourage you wherever you are on your journey.

Yahweh’s Promise

I love you, My child
And I’ll never forsake you,
You’re one of My own.
I will always be with you;
Your hand will I hold,
For in your heart My word is sown.

Don’t be afraid of the darkening night;
The times, they are evil
And you will have to fight.
But the good and upright and the just will prevail;
With My word as your sword you can never fail.

Walk on in faith and don’t ever look back
To the road you have already trodden.
The way is before you and the past is gone—
Walk on in faith though the way seems long;
Walk on in faith though the way is long.

I love you, My child, and My peace is yours.
I will never forsake you—not one of My own!
Though all around you the storms are severe,
Remember in faith I am always near,
To uphold and support you, no matter where,
In failure, in victory, in doubt, in despair;
In laughter, in weeping, in danger, in fear…
My promise forever: I am always here…

I am always here, I am always here,
My promise forever, I am always here.

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your only Son to suffer and die for our sins so that we might be forgiven and become Your very own children through Christ’s atoning sacrifice. Give us Thy grace to comprehend Your measureless love for us and to never take Your beautiful Gift, the Gift of Your precious Son Jesus Christ for granted. Thank You, Lord. I love You.
In Jesus Name. Amen.

Christ Will Never Fail You

FaithfulGodGod will never fail you. If you trust Him, He will help you with whatever you need. If you are experiencing a trial or difficult temptation right now, this is what God’s word promises:
“But you can trust God. He will not let you be tempted more than you can bear.
But when you are tempted, God will also give you a way to escape that temptation. Then you will be able to endure it.” ~1 Corinthians 10:12-13 (ERV)
“Christ is the one who gives me the strength I need to do whatever I must do.” ~Philippians 4:13  (ERV)

“Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.” ~Philippians 4:10 (MSG)

These are beautiful promises from One who is entirely faithful to His word. He cannot lie.
“…it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.” ~Hebrews 6:18

But what if we lack the faith to believe in His promises? Will He then not help us? God will still help us even if our faith is weak. Even if we have failed Him miserably. For His word promises:

“If we are faithless (do not believe and are untrue to Him) He remains true (faithful to His Word and His righteous character), for He cannot deny Himself.” ~2 Timothy 2:13 AMP

There is nothing you or I can ever do to make Jesus stop loving us. He suffered and died on the cross to forgive all of our sins and wipe away every shame.
His word promises He will never leave or forsake us.
He will let no evil conquer the one who trusts in Him. (Psalm 91:10).
“He keeps every promise forever.” ~Psalm 146:6
