The Cherished Of The Lord

THE CHERISHED OF THE LORD

The cherished of the Lord

Shall dwell within His heart,

And God shall cover them with grace

And from them not depart.

They shall dwell between

God’s shoulders like a child,

And there shall they find peace and hope

Through every stormy trial.

God who robes Himself with light

And dwells in clouds above,

Will hide them from the wind and rain

And shield them with His love.

The cherished of the Lord

Will ever sing God’s praise

Extolling Him who gave them life,

They’ll worship Him always.

Psalm 68:4 (KJV) “Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him.”

Psalm 104:1-3 (ERV) “My soul, praise the Lord! Lord my God, you are very great! You are clothed with glory and honor. You wear light like a robe. You spread out the skies like a curtain. You built your home above them. You use the thick clouds like a chariot and ride across the sky on the wings of the wind.”
Deuteronomy 33:12 (KJV) “The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.”

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, may You bless all who read this prayer, poem, and bible verse to know that You cherish them beyond anything they could ever imagine.

Your word says that Your thoughts toward us outnumber the grains of sand by the sea in Psalm 139: 18, and Psalm 40 says You are always thinking about us.

You don’t ever forget a single one of us though sometimes we may feel forgotten in our pain, loneliness, trial, or whatever challenge we may be facing. You are with us. The Bible is true.

Isaiah 49:16 reveals that You have engraved a picture of us on the palm of Your hand and that “our walls” are ever before You. You see all our needs and the challenges that we are facing. You will never fail or forsake us.

You love us without measure and that love is unconditional. You forgive all our sins and wash them as far away from us as far as the east is from the west according to Psalm  103: 12.

That same Psalm declares: “The Lord has always loved His followers and He will continue to love them forever and ever!” Psalm 103:17 (ERV) Lord, thank You for Your great love for each of us!

Lord, thank You for Your grace and mercy, and for sending Your Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins so that we could be saved and given eternal life with You. We love You. In Jesus name, amen.

GOD SHALL WIPE AWAY ALL TEARS

rev-21-4-wipe-away-all-tears

God Shall Wipe Away Every Tear

I once had a doll named “Pitiful Pearl” when I was a small child. In all my memories of her she has a tiny tear attached to her homely little face. Whether the tear was an original part of the doll or I drew it on her, I’m not sure. I only remember one of her big eyes had a tiny tear affixed to it which made her look perpetually sad, even though she wore a faint painted on smile. Her clothes were all bedraggled giving her the appearance of a poor abandoned orphan.

I wanted this doll from the moment I saw her advertised. I don’t remember whether she was a Christmas or birthday gift, but my mom and dad always bought me the dolls I requested without asking any questions. They never failed to encourage me to be myself and to play with the toys that spoke to my heart.

They were wonderful parents for they always nurtured me in the gifts and talents that God had given me.

I loved my little Pearl. I pretended she was the “Little Match Girl” in Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tale and poor Cinderella and every other victim in many another fairy tale. She was a great doll! And if I felt sad in any way I would identify with her.

Like the time my imaginary friend Dinky called my little sister a “Stinker” – a notoriously bad word in those days- and I got in trouble for it!!

But then came the day when my oldest brother went on a rampage and decided to pretend to have a war raid. He had been inspired by old west movies and TV shows.

My dolls became the hapless victims of his vivid imagination. He kidnapped my Chatty Cathy and my Pitiful Pearl and buried them in the vast no man’s land we called “the Lot” outside far beyond the garage somewhere and then refused to tell me where he’d buried my precious dolls.

I was inconsolable… till I discovered the Barbie, Ken, and Midge dolls… 🙂

That Pitiful Pearl doll has lived in my memory more than any other doll I had as a child. Maybe it’s because of its sad little tear and incongruous smile despite its raggedness.

The Bible says in Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

God cherishes each of us. He came to us in the form of a man, as Jesus Christ to save us from our sins. Jesus told the Pharisees, who were the religious leaders of His day, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.” -Luke 5:31-32

The Bible says in the book of Romans 3:23 “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Jesus Christ came to save all people. For God’s word says in Romans 3:10-11: “.. as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God.”

We all need Jesus. But not all see this truth. Jesus said in His sermon on the Mount, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:3)

In God’s sight, we all, like my Pitiful Pearl doll, have a tiny tear in our eye. That tear is sin, a hopelessness, that only He can wipe away. Jesus has made a way to wash this tear away, through His spotless blood that He shed for all of us on His cross when He suffered and died for our sins over 2000 years ago.

He says in Romans 10:9-11, 13 “…if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” …For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Though we may die and be buried like my Pitiful Pearl doll, Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26)

Pitiful Pearl still lives on in my heart though she’s been buried in the lot of the house where I grew up for many years now. Her memory has never left me.

Even so, those who love Jesus will live forever in the heart of God, only in a more beautiful way which is far beyond anything we could ever dream or imagine.

God’s word says in 1 Corinthians 2:9 “But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him…”—

And as for all our tears, God promises to wipe away every tear, every sorrow, and all death forever someday.

Revelation 21:4 says, “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

These are beautiful truths to ponder and be thankful for as we gather with our loved ones and friends over the Thanksgiving Holidays.  May each of you have a blessed Thanksgiving with your loved ones and friends. God bless you all with rivers of peace, hope, health, and joy, in Jesus name, amen.

Our God Is Coming

god-is-comingOUR GOD IS COMING

Our God Is Coming!

 Soon our God is coming

Oh see the Holy One!

The Alpha and Omega,

Christ, God’s only Son.

 His glory covers the heavens

His praise fills all the earth

The stars all bow before Him

Who made the universe.

 Light shines all around Him,

He wears a robe of stars;

His hand is full of power~

Our everlasting God.

 He is the Lord Almighty

Who loves all that He made

He’s coming back for His redeemed;

For all the souls He saved.

 The Alpha and Omega

Who rides the Heavenlies

He’s coming back to claim His own

For all eternity.

Jesus said,  “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”  Matthew 24:42

 maranatha (1 Cor. 16:22)

Maranatha consists of two Aramean words, Maran’athah, meaning, “our Lord comes,” or is “coming.” Maranatha was a greeting often used by believers in the early Church who eagerly watched for and awaited the return of their Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. The Lord admonishes His disciples to watch and wait for His return in many of His parables and sayings. We are to always abide in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and be ever watching for His return. The apostle Paul wrote in Colossians 3:1-3,

“ If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” (ESV)

Jesus said to His disciples that wherever are treasure is there are hearts would be also. (Matthew 6:21)

If Jesus is our treasure, then our eyes and our hearts will be on Him and we will be abiding in Him regularly. (John 15:4)

 PRAYER

Heavenly Abba Father, please draw our hearts ever closer to You and to our Savior Jesus. Help us to abide always in Thy word, and fill us more and more with Thy Holy Spirit. May we always be ready and watching for the day when Thy Son returns, for no one but You, Abba Father, knows that day, nor the hour. In Jesus’ holy name, thank You, Lord, we love You, amen.

A Healing Prayer

malachi-4-2

A Prayer For All Who Need Healing

Heavenly Father, please bless all those who are suffering and need healing today, whether in their body, mind, or soul.

Thy word promises “God sent His word and healed them and delivered them…”

King David wrote, “O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me.”

psalm-107-20

Thank You, Lord, that You love each one of us as if we are the only child You have to love.

You dwell in our heart so You feel our pain.

Thy word says, “You have seen my troubles, and You care about the anguish of my soul.”

psalm-31-7

Lord, send rivers of peace and hope to all who are chronically ill, suffering pain and are discouraged physically, spiritually, or emotionally.

May You strengthen and encourage each of Thy precious children today.

May they know that though they have endured a long, difficult night of weeping, they will see a bright new morning come soon, with joy from the streams of Heaven that none can take from their hearts.

For Thy word promises, “Though weeping endures for a night, joy comes in the morning.”

May You give them grace to bear what they cannot in their own strength bear.

Thank You, Lord, for all who are praying this prayer today.

May they know how much You love and value them. May they feel You holding them in Your everlasting arms of love and mercy. May they know that suffering and affliction do not mean that You no longer love us. For Thy own Son suffered when He lived on this earth. “He was a man of sorrows and acquainted  with grief,” Thy word says.

Thy word says that we suffer now so that our faith may be refined, but that someday You will wipe all our tears away and we will suffer no more.

Lord, we praise You for Your wonderful promises and for Thy word that says You keep every promise forever. (Psalm 146:6)

Thank You that though we may suffer for a season, You will never leave or forsake us. And there is an end to all our trials. For Thy word promises, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”

psalm-34-19

Thank You that You are going to deliver Thy suffering children who are asking for healing miracles.

Thank You for hearing and answering this prayer.

I love You.

In Jesus’ mighty name, amen and amen.
