Stay Calm

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” ~Exodus 14:14

The word used for Lord in this verse is Jehovah,
יהוה
Jehovah is one of God’s names in the Bible.
[yehôvâh] \yeh-ho-vaw’\ means “the self Existent or eternal One.”
Jehovah was also the Jewish national name of God.
In the Bible, Jehovah means “the Lord.”

Meditate on Exodus 14:14 the next time you feel anxious, worried or overwhelmed by events beyond your control.
Pray, leave the situation in God’s strong hands.
Know that God is FOR you.
He is your sure VICTORY.
With Him on your side you cannot fail.
Do you know why?
Because God CHERISHES you.
He is LOVE, and His love will not fail or forsake you when you put your trust in Him.

God is love. (1 John 4:8)
and Love never fails
. (13
:8)

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, may you bless every soul who is praying this prayer.
Encourage their hearts, assure them that You are FOR them and will give them the victory in all their battles as they seek You and put their trust in You to help them. May You give them the faith they need to believe, hope, and trust in Your power and strength to support them. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Jesus Wants Loving Obedience

Pastor Joe Quatrone, Jr.'s avatarJoe Quatrone, Jr.

ObedienceEvery true Christian wants to have a winning witness, a testimony that demonstrates Jesus makes a difference in their life. They want the world around them to see Jesus in them. But unfortunately, that is not always the case. All too frequently the image the world has of Christians is one of hypocrisy and compromise.

I have found many people today who profess to be Christians are living lives that are not significantly different from the world around them. I have read survey after survey, which demonstrates evangelical Christians are as likely to embrace lifestyles every bit as hedonistic, materialistic, self-centered, and sexually immoral as the world in general. Divorce is more common among born again Christians than in the general American population. Noted Christian apologist Josh McDowell has pointed out sexual promiscuity of evangelical youth is only a little less outrageous than that of their non-evangelical peers.

God’s Promises of Rest

20140717-182909-66549494.jpg

Psalm 3:5 (HCSB)
“I lie down and sleep;I wake again because the Lord sustains me.”

Psalm 4:8 (HCSB)
“I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, Lord, make me live in safety.”

Psalm 121:7-8 (HCSB)
“The Lord will protect you from all harm;
He will protect your life.
The Lord will protect your coming and going
both now and forever.”

Psalm 127:2 KJV)
“It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so He giveth His beloved sleep.”

Psalm 91:1 (NLT)
“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will
find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”

Prayer
Lord, thank You, for these wonderful promises of peace, rest, and protection from Your word. You are an awesome God who provides for our every need. May You give rivers of peace and rest to all those who may have trouble sleeping. May You hold each one in Your strong arms, wrap them in Thy mantle of love, and sing lullubyes of peace over them as Thy word promises in Zephaniah 3:17: “For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
Thank You, dear Lord, I love you, In Jesus’ name, amen.

Wait For The Lord

20140625-011237-4357060.jpg

I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in his word do I hope.
My soul waits for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning,
I say, more than they that watch for the morning.” ~ Psalm 130:5-6 (UKJV)

I give thanks that we have a wonderful God who hears and answers our prayers.
God’s word admonishes us in Hebrews 4:16: “Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need. (WEB)

The word mercy in this verse means kindness or goodwill towards the miserable and the afflicted, joined with the desire to help them.”

Our Creator wants very much to help us. He wants us to give Him our burdens.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time; casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.” -(1 Peter 5:6-7 WEB)

The word “grace” like mercy in the Hebrews scripture means “goodwill, loving-kindness & favor.”

As we give God our burdens, He wants to give us His blessings in return.
“In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.” ~(Philippians 4:6-7 WEB)

PRAYER

Thank You, Heavenly Father, that You cherish each one of us as if we were the only one You had to love. Thank You that You hear our every prayer and that no detail of our life escapes Your notice.
You eagerly wait for us to pour our hearts out to You for You are truly the “God of all comfort who comforts us in all our afflictions…”
You hear and answer every prayer we prayer in Your own way and time. Please give us the faith to believe in You, the hope to wait on You,
the grace to know that You will never disappoint our trust in You.
We love You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
